Description

Nobody else can hear it – but you hear it all the time. It’s a ringing, buzzing or humming noise playing in your ears, and it’s exasperating. The aggravating ringing in your ears, called tinnitus, can be managed.
This App provides you with a sounder player with relaxing Zen sounds. The Zen sounds presented on the playlist are intended to provide a relaxing sound background for adults (21 years and older) who desire to listen to such a background in quiet. The Zen sounds may be used as a sound therapy tool in a tinnitus treatment program that is prescribed by a licensed hearing healthcare professional who is trained in tinnitus management.
The Zen sounds presented in the playlist are intended to be used in quiet where hearing everyday sounds is not critical. The sounds are intended to provide a relaxing sound background for those who suffer from tinnitus.
The app also provides you with access to educational tools, which are intended to increase your awareness about how to live with your tinnitus through education on the basics of tinnitus as well as explained exercises.
Usage:
The app is intended to be used with Widex hearing aids (either with streaming capability or via a COM-DEX or UNI-DEX). We recommend you listen to the selected sound for at least 2-4 hours a day, at a soft level. It is important the you choose a sound that you find is pleasant, to help you shift your focus away from your tinnitus. Listen to the sound while you are in quiet surroundings doing other things: reading, relaxing, working, etc.  If you use hearing aids, the sounds in the app may be used alone (without amplification) in quiet when you are not required to hear surrounding sounds, or they can be used so both the surrounding sounds and the app sounds are heard together.

auto play setting ?

I find this app very helpful to distract me from the tinnitus. Unfortunately when there’s an interruption like a phone call, the app doesn’t auto turn back on after the call has ended. I have to return to the app to restart.. Like many other apps can this feature be added?

Great app!

When my mild to moderate tinnitus acts up, I use “Pink Noise” for a few minutes and it stops my tinnitus immediately, especially at night/bedtime when it is most perceptible. This app is remarkable!

My favorite and a misconception

The collection of audio tracks in this app is great. I listen to several but my favorite is Zen Dreams because of the bird that lives in it. I say “lives” because there is a slight echo that makes its calls sound so real. The first time I heard the bird I was at a mall and I looked around for it, thinking that it had gotten inside by mistake, that’s how real it sounds. I look forward to its impromptu visits. Some of the reviewers think that you need Widex hearing aids to use the app but that’s a misconception. The app is no different than other streaming apps so it can be used with any Bluetooth speaker or earbuds besides hearing aids. I use it also with a Bluetooth headband to help me go to sleep when my tinnitus is acting up.

Doesn’t work with latest versions of Apple IOS

I was using this app to retrain my hearing to control tinnitus. When the new version of the IOS was installed this app would stop every time the screen went to sleep or I navigated away from the app. I would then go back and restart the app. Too bad. My audiologist recommended this as one of the best tinnitus apps.

Grating

The relaxation breathing exercise would be good If I didn’t want to ram a pencil into my ear every time I listen to this guy. His voice isn’t soothing or relaxing. He reminds me of my college economics professor that was as dry as popcorn farts. Jeezle ... get someone with a better voice personality than this guy.

I like this app but it hasn’t been updated in 3 years. Is it abandoned or will there be more updates? Thank you.

I’m in my 60’s and had instant tinnitus onset after a stroke 2 years ago. VERY loud, 24x7, with occasional so-loud-I-want-to-die ‘storms’ that last several minutes. Tried 4 different ENTs / audiologists, acupuncture (2018 WHO study), Klonopin (too sedating), and Ativan (works somewhat but scary addiction potential and short duration), and medical cannabis (some strains help...others make it worse). Finally got a referral to a local tinnitus specialist who set me up with the Evoke hearing aids 2 weeks ago. I have the Evoke app for control...and have made my own ‘programs’...but every now and then, I just need the Zen soundtracks in this app. I was able to read a book (for some reason, the tinnitus made that difficult) with Zen Fly last weekend...and nearly cried. Yesterday...ONE Ativan instead of THREE. Widex hardware is not cheap, and insurance carrier laughed at me, but the improvement is very good. Hopefully, I can train the auditory cortex to behave. So far, this is the best thing I’ve found.

Nice App to Have

This is really well done. It’s great to be able to put on a soothing background whether you have tinnitus or not. And if you do there are several backgrounds, so depending on how bad your tinnitus is, you can go with soothing or with white/pink noise. Mine comes and goes, so it’s great being able to pick what works best for the moment. These are a lot like the backgrounds in an app I sometimes use with sleep phones when I can’t get to sleep. This app would work really great for that, but I take the hearing aids out at night when I sleep. Maybe I’ll try the sleep options for a nap sometime. Anyway, it’s really a nice app with more options and much more flexible than having a Zen program added to the HA by the audiologist.
