Winedrops FAQ
Is Winedrops free?
Yes, Winedrops is completely free and it doesn't have any in-app purchases or subscriptions.
Is Winedrops legit?
⚠️ Warning: Multiple users of Winedrops have mentioned scam or fraud. Investigate thoroughly before using this app.
In order to see anything you first have to put your card details in and they lie to your that you won’t be billed anything today. 5secs later I saw £1 come out of my account before I have even seen anything. The whole process is soo long. I was eager to get at least 40-50 bottles of wine but the initial process was soo infuriating. All the best of luck. You can keep the £1
Huge scam
They take £90 from your account and refuse a refund and bury this information in the ts and cs! I am fighting for a refund but just avoid avoid avoid.
A scam
This app will only let you see their products once you have provided payment details, but it’s kept very quiet that they take £90 from you for the same privilege.
Scam
Downloaded the app started the login process and after a few questions tried to get my bank details before even giving me prices never got too see the the wine range just deleted it.
Do NOT Trust Wine Drops
Do NOT Trust Wine Drops!
I am beyond furious with Wine Drops! They have deceitfully taken £90 out of my account for a subscription I neither wanted nor will ever use. This company preys on customers by sneakily enrolling them in unwanted subscriptions, and it seems I'm not the only victim - countless others have experienced the same unethical treatment.
I did receive a response to my initial email, but their reply was dismissive and unhelpful. It's clear from their tone that they have no intention of returning my money. Their customer service is a complete joke, and it's obvious they have no interest in addressing their deceptive practices.
Avoid Wine Drops at all costs! This company is a disgrace and operates like a scam. Save your money and your sanity - go elsewhere for your wine needs. Wine Drops, you should be ashamed of yourselves!
Great app
Fast delivery and wines you can’t get in the shop
Scam with hidden membership fee
Tried to extort a £90 yearly membership fee.
Potential scam - AVOID
This app is dodgy and possibly a scam. And they do not comply with GDPR. I started the signup process, gave my phone number and email address, and then they demanded a credit card. Alarm bells were ringing so ceased to proceed. Then checked the reviews more thoroughly and saw the positive ratings were clearly provided by bots. Since then I requested for my data to be deleted and they are demanding government issued ID. I am now in the process of considering referring them to the ICO.
EDIT: They have deleted my data as requested after I explained that requiring ID was inappropriate. However it doesn’t sound like they’ve changed their procedures and you should expect the same if you request a deletion yourself.
Unethical
It is not made completely obvious and explicitly clear that if you download the app (which is the only way to look at the wine) that this automatically enrolls you into a trial. After this short trial they take £90 from your bank.
I downloaded the app and deleted almost immediately after being unimpressed with the wine and the app UI itself. Then had the unpleasant surprise of the £90 being taken.
Contacted the seller who, as predicted, tried to tell me it was in the t&cs etc, however it is not at all clear in any initial sign up. I’m not new to the internet and this isn’t my first subscription, but it’s the first time I’ve been conned out of £90. So fair play, someone finally got me!
Currently awaiting a response from the company, however, I had to refer this to my bank and will be further looking at highlighting this unscrupulous practise to the relevant tradesbody.
FRAUD! DO NOT SIGN UP
Like everyone has mentioned, I woke up in the morning to find they had taken £90 out of my account… when I asked for a refund and said I wasn’t aware they would be charging me, they mentioned the cost of membership is mentioned 4 times and that the membership is non refundable… I have tried to sign up again with a separate account and I can confirm the cost of this membership isn’t mentioned ANYWHERE and you’ll have to scroll through copious amounts of text to find anything about this….
It’s illegal to suggest something isn’t refundable particularly after such a short period of time - even if a company has this in their terms.
I’ll be taking this legal and report this company to trading standards!
