Winmail.dat Opener is a free app to open those common 'winmail.dat' attachments. This app is free of charge and fully functional, giving you access to the files without any need for further in-app purchases. The optional in-app-purchase will remove ads.
Our app registers as a handler for .dat files. It is launched when you tap to open the "winmail.dat" attachment, enabling you to see a list of its contents. You can then preview, resend or print the contained files or save them to an album.
This app will extract the winmail.dat on your phone or tablet, it does not require an Internet connection for this process. As our app is ad-supported, it has to ask for permission to access the Internet, despite the fact that the actual extraction process does not require an Internet connection.
Kindly note that not every file ending with .dat is a winmail.dat file. So, before submitting a one star review stating that our service didn’t work, please ensure that your file is indeed a winmail.dat file and not one of a hundred different file types with a .dat extension.

Does not work!

Works well

I have had this problem of not being able to open winmail.dat files for some time now on my iPhone 6. This program works great. Now I can see what I have been missing. Thank you.

Not what it says.

Does not open .rtf emails.

Crashes Constantly. Doesn’t Save

Love the concept but this app constantly crashes and closes out when I try to save.

Used to work

Been using without a problem, but after latest iOS upgrade (13.1.2), clicking on Winmail.dat fire doesn’t open it, just asks to download.

currently nonfunctional

I tried opening 3 different winmail.dat files sent to my gmail address, I know that the TNEF container contains several attachments, able to open them fine in gmail. however those same emails cc’d to my icloud edress with this app pulls up winmait.dat. app doesn’t work, and there are no avenues for requesting tech support. waste of time and headache

Don’t waste your $.99

The application opens windat files fine, but will not allow me to save a photo, crashes the app every time. Windat can open and show me the photos, but that is it! The developer does not respond when you report a problem, either; I just requested a refund, stay as far away from this app as you can!

Simple. Fast.

Easy to use and opened all the files I tested including Excel, Word, and PDFs.
