The Wolfram Tides Calculator will become your go-to guide for tide information. Calculate the present tide or today's high and low tides, do historical computations, or plan your vacation using the tide forecast. The app can automatically detect your current location or provide data from around the world.
Includes bonus extras:
- Sunrise, sunset, and moon phases
- Properties of oceans, including the speed of sound therein
- Sun exposure information and UV forecasts
- Weather forecast, history, and current look-ups
- Pressure under water computations
Tide predictions proceed by collecting data from tide measurement stations and then extrapolating using a standard mathematical and physical model. This means that the Wolfram Tides Calculator can only give historical, present, and future tide information for locations for which there are tide stations. Presently Wolfram|Alpha has information from more than 2,000 tide stations around the world. If you believe that there is a tide station near you, but we are not reporting data from it, please post the location of the tide station, including a URL if possible. For more information on tide predictions see, for example: http://tidesandcurrents.noaa.gov/predhist.html.
The Wolfram Tides Calculator is powered by the Wolfram|Alpha computational knowledge engine and is created by Wolfram Research, makers of Mathematica—the world's leading software system for mathematical research and education.
The Wolfram Tides Calculator draws on the computational power of Wolfram|Alpha's supercomputers over a 3G, 4G, or Wi-Fi connection.

Wolfram Tides Calculator Reviews
Not accurate for Sanibel, FL
I bought this app to check the tides while on location here in Sanibel, FL. The app does not agree with the tables on local tides.net. It says that it should be near high tide at my current location. I just returned from the beach and have never seen the tide this low. Very disappointing for a Wolfram product.
Useless in Korea
Useless anywhere in South Korea.
Good for US, but not for other countries
I can only find one location for Mexico. No help feature available on phone or on line. No map of available locations. If you try a location that it doesn't have data, it doesn't suggest nearby location. Thousands of world wide locations doesn't include major tourist destinations in Mexico.
Does not do currents
This tide app does not support currents. I should have read the product description better. Most "tide" predictor apps support currents so I assumed this one would too. I use currents more often than tide level for navigation. Also, it is hard to find locations. You need to search by a known name. There is no way to get a list of stations based on a location (even current locartion).
Frozen App!
What gives? The app is not functioning at all...tried deleting, reinstalling , & even rebooting...nothing works...what have you charged me for??
I'm totally disappointed...Pls. issue a refund at once!!!
Apparently inaccurate
Seems to be completely wrong in CA, to the extent that it's predicting high tide when all other sources are predicting high tide.
Not Helpful
I'm sitting a quarter mile from a US Coast Guard Station. Tide reports for that location are readily available- but not with is app. The closest location the app recognizes is over 24 miles away. This app is useless for me.
Good information but ...
I am disappointed that the tide info computation doesn't use my precise location from the GPS. It is using a reporting station miles away. I could easily have obtained that info using Safari. Maybe there is a setting I didn't find. Tried it on my iPad 3G and iPhone 4.
Conflict?
There seems to be a conflict in computed values with another iPad app, Tide Graph HD, and I will continue to evaluate. I suppose the best way to check is to have both on hand and for any time and location, check the computed value against actual observations and then decide what is the best one for you to use.
If one does a comparison test, be careful as Tide Graph has more locations for a given general area vs the Wolfram app.
