Very buggy
For some reason, pen often stops working between frames, e.g. going from 'a' to 'i', but only for tracing. Can still use pen to tap back, etc. Using this on my iPad Pro with Apple Pencil. App looks great, developer may want to check this issue.
Perfect for beginners
This app is systematic and extremely useful. I would 100% recommend buying the paid edition, as you get your money's worth. The only app you need to learn Hiragana and Katakana. Good luck, learners!

Good app.
I like this app which use while I use Duolingo. I will comment though on the main screen. There are too many choices of hiragana and katakana. It would be nice to have an option to choose either one, then choose which 5 characters to do. Also I found when doing 5 characters the screen resets to the top and not where I left it. Would be nice if this didn’t happen. Other than this, I am happy with my purchase. I have been after an app like this for a while and totally forgot to check the App Store, DOH.

This app has helped me learn all the from hiragana — katakana!! I can read out letters fast enough to speak full sentences ,although this app will not make you fluent if your learning all the bit and pieces of Japanese,but it probably the best Japanese FREE learning apps I’ve ever seen!! HIGHLY RECOMMEND 👍🏻
