WYA FAQ
Is WYA free?
Yes, WYA is completely free and it doesn't have any in-app purchases or subscriptions.
Is WYA legit?
🤔 The WYA app's quality is mixed. Some users are satisfied, while others report issues. Consider reading individual reviews for more context.
Downloading for Drumsheds, didn’t work at all. Didn’t report correct location of mine or any of my friends locations the whole night. Drained all of our batteries so fast, leaving us with barely any charge to try and get home with once the event ended.
Inaccurate and battery draining
This was totally useless in a venue like Drumsheds. Completely inaccurate and drains your battery, not ideal
Good concept but Drains battery rapidly!
I love the concept of this app, me and my friends all downloaded it and off to drumsheds we went. Before I even got in to a situation where I could use the app to find my friends my battery had gone from 90% to 10% in about an hour and then when I did want to find them my phone was dead. I think there needs to be some sort of clean indication that this will drain your battery at a rapid rate as having a dead phone when I leave an event and have to get across London left me in a less then desirable situation and has put me off the app.
Don’t get this app
This app is horrible to use. The set up is really unintuitive. You’re never 100% sure if you’ve linked with your friends. It said I was but at no point did I see their icons on the map. I got it to use at Drumsheds in London. The app spanks your battery power so my phone died and I ended up in a worse situation than if I’d of not had the app at all. Avoid or recommend it to your worst enemies.
Poor battery performance, good idea
Drains battery too quickly when leaving on for prolonged period of time in the background
Lifesaver at Drumsheds!
WYA app is a lifesaver! Used it at Drumsheds, and it kept our group together in that massive place. No more bathroom trips turning into a mission for the whole gang. Split up, found each other easily. Bluetooth magic and venue maps worked like a charm, even with bad signal spots. Safety and connection vibes are spot-on. WYA made my night stress-free. Highly recommend!
App review
When I found out that the event venue (drum sheds) had poor service I just googled apps that would help me find my friends if we ever lost each other in the event and I found WHERE YOU AT. Found it easy to download, register and add all my friends. Safety for everyone especially a women is very important when going out to big events so this app was perfect for me just in case I got lost, in a way it helped me feel a little safer. I highly recommend it!
App don’t work good
Was at drumsheds yday and did a bit of this and that. Lost my mates and my marbles and went on WYA (should be wua) to find my mates but couldn’t see my phone to work out where they were, ended up sitting in the toilet for 3 hours until I realised I didn’t come with anyone lol
Needs improvement
Great concept provided you have battery and your mates do too.
Couldn’t get it show live location. Just semi transparent initials of where they were.
Upon opening you always have to navigate to the map. Or tap the ellipsis menu on a contact to get secondary menu to see where your mates are. Eh?!
Why not make friends visible on launch? Last venue / location / history would be good also.
If you’re close by to mates can one notify another? Or provide hotspots or facilities their close to?
EG: A is looking for you, meet them at B kinda thing. Getting anywhere from Drumsheds is a nightmare at 3am.
Another example is syncing contacts, why not do this over the same tech, not QR but wirelessly NFC / bump phones
Please remove the guess work and optimise fully when people actually need the app to function
Needs some work to be actually useful
I really wanted this to work but I think the technology needs some refinement to actually be useful. The mapping definitely does not work. There were multiple times where my friends and I were at a completely different place to where the map showed even though it said our locations were updated seconds ago.
I’d be happy to change my rating if the app improves, but it was quite a pain to get all my friends to download the app, and then getting everyone to request you as a friend is a painful process. So I will not be doing it again and unfortunately can’t recommend it as the main functionality does not work at all.
