Description

Yoink for iPad and iPhone lets you easily and quickly store items you drag, copy, share or download for later use.

This way, you can collect items in a central place without having to constantly move back and forth between your source- and destination applications.
The app accepts virtually any file type, for example app-content like images from websites, text snippets, web urls, eMails and documents - no matter if you drag, copy, share or download them.

Here's what users say about Yoink:
"The best shelf app on iOS" - Igloouk, UK App Store
"Most useful app in the iOS store. What a gem." - noway170, Austrian App Store
"A godsend. Get this. Now." - mr chairboy, US App Store

As a Slide-Over or Side-by-Side app on iPad, Yoink is always ready for you to drag something to it, no matter what app you're in. Just slide Yoink into view and conclude your drag operation.
On iPhone, use Yoink's Share extension, or copy-paste items into Yoink.
Items are stored in Yoink for later use, featuring rich previews for easy identification and full previews for most file types.
Drags containing multiple items are combined into a Stack.

Yoink comes with deep system integration:
- Clipboard Monitor:
Yoink's clipboard monitor saves everything you copy or cut, even when Yoink itself is in the background.
Use the Picture-in-Picture overlay to select what type of data Yoink should save, as well as to pause or stop it at any time.

- Picture-in-Picture for more than just videos:
Among others, Yoink can show pictures, PDFs, eMails and even websites in the Picture-in-Picture overlay, and lets you scroll through pages of documents right there.

- iCloud Sync
Synchronize Yoink's items across your devices using iCloud

- Handoff
Transfer files between iPhones, iPads and Macs (separate Mac Yoink app required) using Handoff

- Action/Share Extension
Almost any item you can share via the system-wide Share sheet, you can send directly to Yoink from there

- Keyboard
Yoink has its own keyboard so that inserting items you've stored in Yoink is easy and quick, without having to launch Yoink.

- Spotlight Integration
Any item in Yoink can be found via Spotlight - and the search-results are draggable.

- Today Widget
Access Yoink's items and save the contents from your clipboard in Yoink from Notification Center

- Shortcuts / Siri Suggestions
Yoink offers you Siri Shortcuts and Suggestions so you can automate processes, like adding items from the clipboard to Yoink, or copying items from Yoink, as well as starting downloads in Yoink.

- Files Integration
Access Yoink's files from any app that supports iOS 11's document browser

Here's what the press says about Yoink:

No updates. Widget is outdated

gugaavena on

Yoink used to be an amazing app. Unfortunately, it looks like its development was abandoned… There haven’t been updates in over a year. In my opinion, one of its main funcionalities is the widget that allows us to quickly add and retrive text from clipboard history. The app still hasn’t updated to the new widgets introduced on ios 15 or 14… Maybe now, with iOS 17, the developer will update it to have interactive widgets.

Versatile utility that just gets on with the job

Dawn Riser on

Yoink is so useful I dont know how I managed without it. It saves clipboard snippets, files and other bits and pieces from other apps and none and presents them for use just as though I'd put a scrap of information or a whole book on the desk beside me. There's so little to it and yet Yoink fulfils a vital role that's missing from the IOS operating system. When I had an issue, that turned out to be entirely my own misunderstanding, the developer responded promptly, fully and politely to my questions. I also have the MacOS version of Yoink and it's equally versatile making it, on both platforms, an essential tool for those many times a day when I want to transfer things from one app to another in a multitude of formats.

Indispensable App

I no longer have to delve into my labyrinthine filing system to access papers for a meeting. They’re all in a Yoink stack labelled with the title of the meeting and the date. It’s a game changer. Just need to figure out the Mac/iOS integration now.

Completely brilliant and indispensable

This app is integral to my use of the iPad, more than anything else. Moving files around, saving items temporarily, finding something on your iPhone when you saved it on your iPad, and so much more. These are things I do every day, and having a single app to interface between all my other apps makes life so much easier. I simply cannot recommend this app highly enough, despite it’s nonsensical name! Don’t be put off by that, you will use this app every single day! (This review applies to the iOS versions for iPad and iPhone - I do not feel the same about the Mac version!).

Simple, useful …

MuppetGate on

Easy to use with a few nice power touches, like being able to scan a document using the camera. (Yup, I could use Notes, but I don’t always want to create a note). Contacted the developer with a question, and he got back to me in about a minute and half, so I can’t fault the device. 🙂

Love it!!!

As a Mac user of Yoink for a few years I seemed to have missed the iOS version but am so glad to have found it. Super useful and easy to use. Take a bit of time to discover how it work (if you’re not familiar with shelf apps) as it is soooo convenient. iCloud sync is fast and enhances the experience as you can just pick copied items from any of your devices to use in another app on another device. Having it all in one place is how I like to work so it’s great for me. I had a small issue with bringing up the Yoink keyboard when using a Smart Keyboard on my iPad but the developer responded in about 10 minutes with a solution !!! Proper customer service. If you need this kind of app, this is the best, imho, and certainly the easiest to use.

Notification pop up

EIE23 on

I do not want to allow notifications. This is why I tapped not to allow notifications. Not a difficult concept to understand. 8 times in the last 20 minutes yoink asks again if I would like to allow notifications. NO I WOULD NOT....PLEASE STOP ASKING

Built-in iOS Handoff and Airdrop makes this rarely used

JeL1010 on

I have an iPhone, Mac and iPad. I bought this as it seemed like a useful tool for cross device practicality. It didn’t live up to expectations. The Mac app works great because it is there whenever I drag an item. Obviously an iOS device can’t action that. That is my first gripe; its very cumbersome compared to airdrop/handoff. Second; in the app, I don’t want an iPhone workspace and an iPad workspace. I just want one iCloud workspace (that can also pick up files on my Mac). Thirdly, with iOS handoff and airdrop technologies it makes this app massively underused. If I press copy anywhere on my iPhone and press paste on my iPad, it just works with handoff. Compare that to this app, where you have to purposely share, open that today widget, or open the app itself. Then if I saved on my iPhone, I have to open up my iPad open the app change the default workspace from iPad to iPhone just to see the contents. I know a lot of my points here are actually iOS limitations, but just having one iCloud workspace would make this a lot more practical for me, especially if I could pick up the iPad and iPhone workspaces from my Mac.

Simple but essential

Pros: It does what it says on the box. Also, seamless syncing between devices. Definitely give this a try if you’re looking to be more productive on iOS. Cons: All that’s missing is an iMessage app to easily share stuff directly from within iMessage. Side note: developer seems like a nice guy and is v approachable.
