Yoto FAQ
Is Yoto free?
Yes, Yoto is completely free and it doesn't have any in-app purchases or subscriptions.
Is Yoto legit?
🤔 The Yoto app's quality is mixed. Some users are satisfied, while others report issues. Consider reading individual reviews for more context.
The new CarPlay app is a welcome addition, but it is a bit buggy - it quite often crashes / doesn’t load / doesn’t show book covers etc.
Also, the app really needs the ability to download books to be able to play them when there’s no internet signal. Driving in remote Australia recently meant we couldn’t listen to the Yoto in the car as there was no signal.
Love the Yoto and and new CarPlay, it just needs some work.
More options would be great
Love that I can control the yoto mostly from the app. It’s great to be able to adjust the volume limit by the app but would be even better if I could adjust the volume more temporarily using it. I like the have it louder at the beginning of the night then quieter once asleep. Then the following night I have to adjust it again. Would be an easy fix!
Terrible all the way
This product and app are the pinnacle of stupid “smart” object design. The most basic features are poor, such as white noise that stops and resets every ten minutes. The app doesn’t remember settings, has constant connectivity issues, and all of this for a product that is essentially a poor imitation of a tape deck. ‘How did this get made?’ I wonder to myself every time I see it
Politely Innovative for a Tech-lead World!
We absolutely love our Yoto. Since making our purchase, we have submitted feedback for various ideas and things we would like to see as part of an update to both the app and the player in the future; customer service teams on all platforms are a delight to chat to, are polite and informative and seemed to genuinely appreciate customers getting on board to submit ideas! Our child loves the Yoto and I personally enjoy tinkering around with its different options and set ups, Make Your Own card and streamlining functionalities. I am fascinated by this politely innovation product the slots right in amongst our Montessori environment. Keep up the great work guys!
Can’t find current Yoto daily anymore
EDIT: We ended up having to use a different platform (android) to find the yoto daily podcast, then add it to the library. Only then was it accessible on the iPad app. As to adding new Wi-Fi networks, support was not helpful. They had no suggestions that we hadn’t already tried. I suspect the underlying issue is the internal component that emits the temporary WAP is very cheap, and so becomes unstable very easily.
ORIGINAL: Only archived episodes are available. Since it is now impossible to add new Wi-Fi networks, we have to use the app to play Yoto daily, but that no longer works on the iPad app. It’s not under podcasts, featured or browse, and doesn’t show up in search
Auto default to phone if yoto player is not on
Forcing a selection here to phone seems unecessary.
I wish this worked better
This is a super cool idea, but every time I travel (which is the main time we would want it) nothing seems to load and it’s not really usable
