I really like that this app works with older iPhones. I use it with a 5S, a 6+ and an SE plus an iPhone 13.
But the video is only 720p, even though I've set all to shoot at 1080p, as they do in the regular Camera app.
I control the phones from my iPad. I should be able to turn off video capture on the controlling device, I have delete it every time.
The video editor is very basic. I get better results editing on my laptop.
Low Resolution Videos
UPDATE … See the developer response below. This app is garbage. Who peddles a video product limited to 720p in this day and age?
ORIGINAL REVIEW … We paid for this app and have it installed on several iPhone 14 Pro Max phones. All video on all phones and all cameras produce 720p videos with no settings to create 1080p or 4k videos. This shortfall is a showstopper. Roland’s website is broken and won’t allow a simple support request to be sent because the product type drop-down menu is broken. I tested it on three web browsers to make sure it wasn’t on my end. Very disappointing.
Broskies, who’s signing off on these apps.
Who at Roland is looking around at each other on the teams call and saying - sweet bros. Let’s share this magic with the world. Party on Wayne. send it.
Yea, that guy. The boss’s son or nephew… help him (or her) find their other calling.
I/we do appreciate the buy once option. Thank you for that at least.
✌️
It’s ok
I have an iPad with WiFi only so from the instructions I read it can only work via a WiFi network but not adhoc. Perhaps this is a limitation of non-cellular Apple devices. But if I want to film outside where there’s no WiFi network I’ll be screwed. At least if the developer could add a function when no WiFi network is available it would be great. Perhaps using Bluetooth as a sync trigger. The main function I’m looking for after syncing is to video edit is using Picture in Picture for the final film. I don’t see that function here so I guess both videos would have to be transferred to the camera roll to then import them into iMovie which does have that feature 😮💨😓
Lots of potential. Needs better audio controls and aspect ratio
This app has some amazing capabilities !
To be able to set up three or four iOS devices and record simultaneously and then bring everything together to one device, throw some transitions in and export it is pretty amazing. However there seems to be a lot missing when it comes to the audio side of things. There seems to be no way to turn on or off audio tracks for each video stream. I also would like to be able to record on the primary device with an external microphone or other audio interface for the best quality audio. It seems right now the poor audio from the other devices is still there interfering with things. Also there seem to be bugs where the clip can end up in portrait mode when you in fact want it landscape and there’s no way to flip it. I really hope you can fix these things because this app has a lot of possibilities and is very amazing!
Not Bad for $8...
After reading the mixed reviews, I was unsure, but since it was free to try, I thought I’d give it a look. I had my main iPad Air 3, and iPad Air 1, and an iPod Touch 6 available; installed the app on all 3, the main unit found them and linked up, and I tried shooting. When finished, the Air 1 and the Touch sent their videos to the Air 3. It took awhile to get a handle on the editing functions, but once I managed to figure it out it worked quite well, and I got very cool results even with the free version. So I paid the upgrade fee, and it opened up one more transition and a few more picture-in-picture options; it appears that I also have unlimited recording time.
This app works very well, and I wish it would get some support and updating; some different transitions would be great. But for basic multi-camera video, I can’t complain about this app, especially for the price.
Poop
This all was awful paid 8 bucks for the upgrade it went though but never got the softwares, tried refreshing, deleting snd re downloading- don’t spent money on it.
Amazing
Does exactly what it says and best of all, FREE. Keep up the Great work!!!
To the point
I tried another product but this solution is much better to simply synchronize recording video clips between cameras.
It works, but it’s a bit of a mess
First of all, hats off to Roland for even trying this. It’s pretty neat, using multiple iOS devices to record multi-cam video.
The app does work, but it’s got a lot of rough edges. The UI is all over the place.for example, the PIP windows that overlay the master video were blocking the record button!
Also the transfer function to pull videos off different devices puts up a blur progress bar that looks like some kind of error.
BUT in the end it worked. I was able to shoot and edit footage from 3 iOS devices and combine them into one video.
Clean up the UI, and make it more intuitive and this could be an amazing app.
