ABRSM Violin Scales Trainer

Hi may I know what happened? I definitely didn’t buy violin scales but after not using this app for some time the piano scales disappeared. Please help restore! Thanks

Unbelievable, the official app doesn’t support the full grade syllabus, then why do you indicate scales trainer app at the grade 7 scales and arpeggios ?

I purchased this app from the store for piano scales. The app at the time included scales for piano and violin. After a short time, the developer changed the app to violin only, removing all piano scales. They then put up a new app for piano. If I want to get the functionality I originally purchased, I am told I have to purchase it again. This is dishonest at best, and or straightforward fraud at worst. I cannot believe a reputable organisation like ABRSM would allow this and I strongly encourage you not to trust them with a purchase from the App Store.

It’s really awful that despite so many people paying to use this app and discovering it only works for scales and not for arpeggios, chromatic etc., it still hasn’t been fixed. It would be great if it worked and my students are always so disappointed that it doesn’t.

My daughter has used this throughout the grades and is now really missing it in her grade 6 prep. Please put grades 7 and 8in!

I recently purchased the ABRSM app violin scales trainer. In principle, it’s a great aid. But it doesn’t work! As one reviewer stated last May 2022, the app crashes when you try to play backing tracks for arpeggios, chromatics, dominant/diminished 7ths. Nearly a year later, this bug hasn’t been fixed and the link to the developer at the app store is broken. My child loves the backing tracks for practicing the scales so is massively disappointed that they don’t work properly. This is also a bit of a con, for a pricey app!

I am a violin teacher and I find this app to be really accessible for young learners trying to navigate the world of scales. With backing track options, playalong guide, separate and slurred options, there’s not really anything jig not to like. It should t form the basis as the only tool but for those needing to work on their pitching and rhythm, it’s a really good starting block. Some dominant/diminished 7th and chromatic options would be good additions.

I purchased this for my daughter who is doing grade 5 violin. It’s galvanised her progress in the tedious business of scales, particularly with backing tracks. I would give it five stars but the app crashes when you try the backing track for arpeggios, chromatic scales and dominant/diminished 7ths. Please fix this, developers! Also, the link for support is broken.
