Continues to disappoint
This is my 3rd review. This app continues to struggle in basic mechanisms. Most recently, creating a blank document within this app seems to crash the entire app consistently. For schedule 2 drugs, there’s still not an option to pick the “DNF Until” date. I previously wrote an in-depth review in an attempt to provide feedback, but AdvancedMD (MediocreMD?) continues to neglect these. Given their poor support, collection of fixes that are made permanent rather than developing a proper fix, need for redundancies, lack of intuitive interface, and countless little problems that litter then entire app (both the mobile app and the web-based main app), I will continue to pressure my employer to find an alternative EHR. I have never used an EHR that continually disappoints. I would like to compile a list of issues, but each time I have tried it becomes a project that is so overwhelming I have to abandon it. Their lack of useful support in the past lets me know this effort will be in vain. Things that can be done to improve: 1) beta test… and then listen to the beta testers! I would be happy to beta test for you and would do so for free, but only if you commit to taking any feedback seriously, 2) reduce redundancies, 3) modify your existing systems that would allow customization of basic functions (like quick-text) while reassuring administrators that this will not lead to a system crash, 4) incorporation of an effective speech-to-text engine, 5) a more robust list of screeners, 6) integration of patient handouts (they are currently blank), 7) minimizing clicks, 8) producing letters for referral sources that don’t require multiple steps and significant amounts of time (there are processes that can run in the background, rather than making the user wait). I know this sounds negative, but it’s a well-earned review. My employer is a 300+ clinic company and I will continue to apply pressure to look elsewhere for our EHR needs.
BUGS
The added snowflakes for December are so cute ! But since my app updated every time I try to log in it kicks me out, no matter how many times I try I get kicked out of the app and I’m unable to access it.
Run away
After using AdvancedMD's EMR for over a decade, our practice has experienced a consistent decline in performance. Each year brings new frustrations, culminating in my inability today to log into the mobile version, which is critical for our operations. The recent acquisition of AdvancedMD by another company raises concerns; it seems the new owners may have made a poor investment given the ongoing issues with the software. Overall, what was once a promising platform has become increasingly unreliable and cumbersome to use. Look elsewhere if you want a quality product.
Doesn’t work with new IOS update
Been several weeks now since last iOS update, crashes immediately upon opening. Garbage
Very disappointed
This is a very cumbersome system with very limited training included, (you can purchase extra time). This program does not automatically save your charting so you lose complete charts occasionally while moving within the program to review labs or images.
I have worked with several programs previously and this is the least intuitive program I have personally ever seen or used.

Improvements needed
- I understand the importance of needing to login each time app is opened, but the way the login screen is set up with too little of an area to click is cumbersome, and makes it take longer than it needs to take.
- Wish there was a way to integrate schedule into my Google calendar w/o incl any PHI. Could include just provider name, type of appt, time allotted, and maybe a designated combo of letters/numbers unrelated to clients’ PHI to indicate client that provider will eventually recognize or have a legend of codes saved for quick ref. Perhaps code could contain date of first visit…
- Wish I could access provider care view on app. I’m only seeing scheduler view which is helpful- both would make app even better.
- This goes for the regular EHR system- as it stands now, front office of provider clicks “cancel” or “no show” on provider care view of calendar for whichever reason applies and then fills out this information. But, then, later, in order to close the note/charge slip, you have to leave client file view to go to provider care view screen to “undo” what was done, then go to client’s folder to find appt to click new note and add no charge label/add charge slip info to charge slip, and then press save/sign to close out appt under client file, and THEN, you have to go back to provider care view to RE-press canceled/no show button to clear off portal- this is cumbersome and well… an area where there is room for improvement- please create a way to avoid having to unblock what was already done by linking the cancel/no show button from provider care view to appt listed under Client’s file, and ask us to have clicked that link twice in order for it to clear out completely from our portal. I understand the extra steps as safety through redundancy, but the going back and forth from those views (ie provider care view and appt listed under client’s file) is time-consuming, easy-to-forget, and silly. Make is so we can keep the redundancy but have access to it without having to go back and undo what the office staff/provider already entered in. Just add third redundancy that can be accessed once you’ve closed note/charge slip out from that same location. This will save so much time and frustration. Thank you!
Fix the phone option
About 1 yr ago, was able to tap on the phone number to call the patient directly, now unable to do that. Can this be fixed?
