Bring back PvE classic AoE!! Not this..
Not like AoE, just another boring mobile game.
Over a month ago I opened a SIMPLE support request, which was to unbind my account from Apple so that a family member could also play on a second iPad, which was already logged into my iCloud. Support has been utterly incompetent and refuses to escalate my ticket in order to get resolution. They keep repeating the same phrase that the information that I provided about the iPad that I first played on is incorrect, which is complete B.S. since I have so far only been able to play on the ONE SINGLE iPAD, which is the one that I indicated in the support request. Yet they keep coming back with my information is incorrect, when CLEARLY it is THEIR information that is incorrect. The game is not even that interesting for me to be putting up with such incompetence and at the same time there is not the least chance that I will be spending money on this game, let alone the other family member who cannot play -- all due to the incompetence of support and their unwillingness to to escalate my issue so that it can be properly resolved. :-(((((
There is no benefit or enjoyment playing this game without spending money on shortening wait times, boosting your power level, or what-have you. And, at the end, you’re destined to either lose it all in large wars, or win the wars to discover there’s nothing else to do.
very good game and very good
It’s a blast. A lot like the first one I played on my PC back in high school. Also much easier to play then I was expecting
When you hear the name Age of Empires, you think of legendary real-time strategy battles, balanced gameplay, and rewarding decision-making. Unfortunately, Age of Empires Mobile has little to nothing to do with the beloved franchise it claims to represent. Instead, it’s a classic mobile strategy game re-skinned to exploit nostalgia while aggressively pushing pay-to-win (P2W) mechanics. A Poor Representation of the Franchise The original Age of Empires was all about building civilizations, exploring maps, managing resources, and engaging in strategic combat. None of these core elements are properly represented in the mobile version. Instead, the game offers: •Timer-Based Building: Players are forced to wait hours for upgrades unless they spend premium currency. •Linear Gameplay: There’s no exploration or creativity; progression feels like a grind through repetitive tasks. •Lack of Real RTS Mechanics: The heart of Age of Empires—true real-time strategy—is replaced with simplified base-building and scripted combat. This isn’t Age of Empires. It’s a generic mobile strategy game with a misleading name. The monetization in Age of Empires Mobile is painfully aggressive. The game quickly becomes a battleground not of strategy, but of who can spend the most money. 1.Whale Domination: •Players who spend money dominate the leaderboard and PvP battles, rendering free-to-play (F2P) players virtually powerless. •Premium players can instantly upgrade buildings, speed up research, and recruit massive armies, leaving no chance for F2P players to compete. 2.Exorbitant Time Gating: •Without spending money, progress is excruciatingly slow. Research, construction, and troop training can take hours or even days. •Premium currency (often sold at high prices) is required to bypass these timers, making the game feel more like a waiting simulator than a strategy game. 3.Unbalanced Events: •Events are heavily skewed toward paying players, who can complete challenges instantly and reap the best rewards. F2P players are left behind, unable to compete meaningfully. A Frustrating Experience for F2P Players For those unwilling to spend money, Age of Empires Mobile is a demoralizing grind: •Constant Resource Raids: Whale players will frequently raid F2P players, stealing their hard-earned resources and forcing them to start over. •Alliance Pressure: Alliances are necessary for survival, but many demand activity and spending that F2P players struggle to maintain. •Zero Fair Competitio
This was a sad excuse for an Age of Empires game. After years of waiting for this franchise to return this was a huge disappointment.
Takes a beloved franchise and turns into an app clone. NO ONE asked for this.
