It's fascinating to me how a show like Aggretsuko, which is actively criticizing and questioning capitalism on several levels as well as the exploitation of consumerism, could be turned into such an average, tedious, Pay2Win kind of game, which is everything the series is trying to go against. It's quite shocking. The game itself is about as mildly entertaining as any other puzzle game. And the gameplay isn't that big of an issue - the problem is the setup. You have limited lives to play per day, and you're constantly bombarded with forced ads - most of the time for no reason. If you want more, you have to watch even more ads, some of which are highly vulgar and the X button doesn't always work properly so you're sent to the App Store. Gameplay wise this is frustrating as hell and ruins any potential game flow you may have had. To unlock more characters you need more in game currency, which is given to you in large amounts at first, per standard "F2P" game design, to get you hooked, and then you get stuck. It's very exploitative and dangerous for certain people. 90% of the gameplay is based on luck and whether you already have the right characters. The little skits to watch are nice though. The setup of the whole game feels very outdated, be it the music or the UI, it feels like it hasn't been updated since 2014. Overall it's disappointing in many many ways and feels mildly dystopian which is a shame. The show has so much to offer and if they actually put some heart into the game and dropped the whole F2P charade and micro transactions and simply asked for a full price, it would've been a much better game. Currently I'm just playing to kill some time during the day but I'll probably delete it later and find the videos to watch somewhere else because it truly isn't worth it. PS: You can technically buy the "full" game in the game itself, but you'll still not escape the ads completely, which is just so utterly greedy it's hard not to be disgusted.
So I watched the series and loved it. It was like someone put my life into a series. Really cut and funny. And when I saw this game I had to download it. It is fun to play when you have nothing to do! Great job :)
Super fun game, but I’m not sure if bots just my game, but I’m unable to buy more floor templates. I only have 17 and I know that there’s more, but I didn’t have enough coins. Now I’ve been waiting for a long time and would love if the sale for floors were more frequent or just permanently there
When I played the game I had a very fun experience with the hard puzzles that they put and I love how there is bosses to defeat before you get to the next level
2384 is impossible— you get 12 tries and there’s 4 layers—2 layers of teacups, one layer of dust, one layer of tickets—that alone is impossible to do in 12 moves. But ALSO, you need to collect pink tokens. Please up the number of moves to something doable. There’s just too many levels that are too hard to pass without using up all my tries. It ruins the flow of the game, instead of playing a few levels at a time and enjoying it, I spend all day just trying to finish one level. Sometimes they’re like mathmatically impossible to win— I played level 1506 like 20 times, always a few moves short, but then when I played one more time, I won with 8 moves left over. It feels more like the game is entirely luck based (well ofc it is, but it shouldn’t FEEL that way to the player) Also the rewards for department quests are not even worth what you put in—I got one heart after expending four to defeat a level. If anything you should get a heart just for playing. At the very least, consider making watching ad to get hearts unlimited or at least higher than 7 a day. I can use up 7 just trying to get a three star score on one of the daily challenges. Great game overall I just wish it didn’t feel so much like a Skinner box
I came back to this game after years of not playing, and discovered within 4min why I stopped: the number of ads is INSANE. Had to watch 2 30-second ads just to play a level, and it didn’t even register the booster! Immediate uninstall. Play Pop Town or Candy Crush and you’ll get the same gameplay without being constantly bombarded by ads for the same game on loop.
This game is fun, cute and so well made! I'm so glad I found it, I love that they include so many of the characters even some background characters!
