Airvat Tax Refund

All in all I had a great experience and would definitely use it again. I had no issues with asking the store to print the right form as Airvat helpfully provide all the information you need in the information tab section. I would note that you should upload the invoices as soon as you have them, pre load your passport info and make sure to validate your forms with plenty of time before travelling just so you aren’t stuck at the Eurostar and haven’t got everything sorted (although mine was pretty instantaneous besides my passport being rejected). Not sure how much more you get back vs doing it in store but it’s very easy and nice to have it all in one place / have people contact you throughout to let you know your money is on the way!

Never completed before and must have wasted ££ not claiming. This simple process ensures a really quick process throughout the process, refund process started within 24hrs of returning to the UK.

Pros: - cheaper service charge - less hassle - good and driven customer service Cons: - the app crashes at times I guess because it is a developing app - had to wait for about 3 weeks to get back the refund

I think this app is a great new way to claim your tax returns when travelling and purchasing abroad. The developers have done a good job in creating the user interface and it is very user friendly.

Good customer service and can tell the developers are working hard on this but was unable to get the form sorted before flying home. It’s a great idea but needs a bit of work on accepting the receipts and making it clear exactly what is and not allowed. If you’re on holiday somewhere and have to be waiting on emails back and forth (very prompt it must be said) to get to the bottom of an issue then it can become quite a distraction to actually being away. My receipt was from EuroCarParts and contained all the required fields but was still rejected based on it being click and collect. if I’d known it was going to be rejected I’d have just done the old fashion form in store but now I can’t. Basically If there’s no other way of getting the tax back I’d use the app, nothing to lose. But if offered the form in store, particularly for big purchases I’d probably just keep it simple and stick to the form. The app itself is very well built though and intuitive, I can’t comment on the form and the rest of the process as I haven’t got that far yet.

Great service. I have been able to get a VAT refund on a bunch of low value transactions from small shops. Also very easy app to use. Worked very well when browsing and clicking through it all. Highly recommend it to anyone wanting to do some tax free shopping.
