Akiflow Time Blocking Calendar

I cannot keep using this app because it is absolutely too buggy. Lately I’ve been experiencing a tremendous number of technical issues with both the web app and the mobile app. On the web app, it’s not showing changes i make Akiflow in my Google calendar and that is significant because I am unable to edit calendar events on my phone in the Akiflow app. It’s unresponsive to the touch. I wanted to love this app because it has all of the features I’m looking for: it allows me to build my time blocking into my Google Calendar and check things off right in the calendar. I love how it adds an emoji check mark into the corresponding google calendar event once you complete a task (at least it is supposed to). It also has a web browser version so I don’t have to download an app to my work computer. Customer service has been responsive to my concerns (there’s a significant time difference between the team and the US so it’s been slow), but they have been unable to resolve the problem and I cannot justify paying so much money per month for an app that simply doesn’t work. I feel like I’m mourning because this is the first app that I found that I really loved, but I cannot allow it to derail me in the way that the technical issues do. I suspect they’re working on some major AI update and it’s breaking the entire app, but it doesn’t even matter. Sad.

Akiflow is one of those apps that I absolutely can’t live without! I’ve tried every task management tool available, and this one stands out as the most comprehensive and practical!

If you choose the wrong Google account to login with, you’re stuck - it won’t let you try another account. I get nothing but login failures and can’t use the app.

I can’t even get to the login page, I get a “login failed” error before that.

Calendars are for iPads. This is not.

I was unable to locate anywhere on the app or webpage how to cancel my trial. I reached out to customer service and they sent me a link to a billing page that I could not access prior and refused to refund my money even though I outreached them for support.

For the price they really need to work on the app. It fails to update, its impossible to add a task. Completely pointless. I'm moving to Motion if they don't fix it by the end of the semester.

Other reviews have covered the poor functioning of the app already, so I’ll stick with the deceptive pricing and poor customer service. DO NOT sign up for a free trial. They will hide the date that they charge you, make a charge early and not warn you about the fee. Then it’s a huge $35/month fee for this app. They charged me early and I immediately requested cancellation. They said it was “impossible” to reverse tue charge (not true) then went through a lot of hoops to get me to stay, including offering a discount on future months. Their whole business model seems to revolve around trapping people into that first month fee then dropping them after. If they can get enough people tricked into paying them that amount then it doesn’t matter that their app doesn’t work!

About a year ago I accidentally signed up for one of their app subscriptions because I really liked their app at the time. I stopped using the app and I only realized until yesterday that I had signed up for the subscription. I was a little bit alarmed by the amount so I contacted customer service and they very kindly refunded me the amount. I was very impressed by their communication and attention to me as a customer. Although I stopped using this app, it’s layout and drag and drop to do list feature is SUPER useful. I haven’t been able to get it to work on iPad which was why I stopped using it but I think I may have made a mistake of some kind. I would highly recommend this app though and I think that they have a great team.
