Aluratek Smart Frame

Just received for Mother’s Day and was able send 50 pictures with no issues!

Bought this frame as a nice Mother’s Day gift for my mother in law to share photos of the grandkids from a far. Cannot get any photos to upload, will be returning this piece of trash to Best Buy tomorrow and going with the AURA Smart Frame I was given in the past, never any issues with that frame or app!!

I bought this frame for use in our living room. It was fairly easy to get the 32 Gb microSd memory card to play on the frame. I have around 200 photos that it plays very nicely. Setting the time slide interval and auto on/ off functions were also easy. Then I transferred all photos to the internal memory without a problem. Works fine from either direct reading the card or memory. But after hours of tinkering every possible parameter I still cannot get photos to upload from my IPhone to the frame. Nada! I read the photos go up online to their cloud and then you have to “push” to the frame. NONE of the menus even have the “push” option. Haven’t seen it anywhere even accidentally. Tried the email uploading with no success also. The written instructions are sketchy and very incomplete. I have enough tech experience to make most gadgets work but not this frame. I also read that Apple .mov files must be converted to .avi or mp4 format to play on this frame. The .mov definitely is not compatible. The”Smart” label leaves much to be desired. Also have not tried usb link to pc, but I guess that probably would work. The card access is sufficient at the moment, but I did NOT get my money’s worth for wifi capability . Update: I placed the frame next to my router and hit “reset to factory spec” button. I re entered the router info and the IPhone connected to the frame. Now the IPhone uploads photos to the frame via wifi. Still can’t email photos from pc or use ftp to transfer photos either. The email failure message says “my device (pc?) has been bound by the user’s email, please modify your subject or contact us.” Not exactly sure what that means.

The app developer lies and says "Data Not Collected" when there is definitely user information being gathered. You click on their privacy policy link and get "Oops! Page not found".

Will not let you sign in. First it says p’word or email is wrong then, when you reset password, it says email doesn’t exist or is not valid. This after having received a verification code on the very same email. GARBAGE APP.

I am in the software development industry. If my team were to have developed this product- I would fire them all - on the spot. This is hot garbage. The people making this product have purpose built it to be garbage.

Absolutely terrible software. Surprisingly bad. Teenagers writing free apps do a better job. It also seems to require uploading the pictures to the cloud where they are stored then downloaded back to the frame. Which makes it very slow and no tell where your pictures could end up. It was a gift so I feel bad about returning but I feel I need to research a better frame.

The app worked once but most of the time I hit send and nothing gets sent.

Found a bug. If you setup the app, select all photos. If you do not, it will not allow you to reselect photos from your photo album on your phone.

This app is horribly out of date. It looks as if this has not been updated in a year! For the price I paid for the frame, it should be maintained. It needs additional features such as the ability to view and maintain the photos on the frame.
