Not good enough

iPhone. Updated app. Has gone from buggy to useless. Doesn’t store downloaded content. When content is downloaded, it won’t play. Unable to play or stream anything. Completely stopped working. Considering cancelling my subscription and requesting a refund as this has been problematic for years.
The app is so full of bugs that it is just about worthless. 1. When listening through bluetooth in car, APPLE MUSIC plays concurrently and, if u turn off APPLE MUSIC, the audio component to the lectures a is no plays. 2. Once the downloaded video lecture starts, there is no way to turn it off except by exiting the program/app. If u then want to restart it, the lecture begins at the beginning. And the is no way to adjust the playback to that point in time where you want to resume the lecture. 3. When u are watching/listening to video, there is no way to pause it (for example, to read a question) or rewind by 15 - 30 sec to view a concept that was just explained again. The controls for these functions appear transiently when you begin the lecture, and within seconds disappear from the screen and are never seen again. No way to access them either. So the lecture just plays on as if u were in the lecture hall hearing it live. These seem like well-defined problems that could be fixed by hiring a competent programmer. Very concerning that these problems are not being addressed and fixed. Poor management somewhere in the organization. ADDDNDUM: They fixed some problems and introduced others: With recent upgrade (Nov-Dec 2022) (1) Downloaded lectures don’t stay downloaded. You have to reload them each time u reopen to app. (2) The app logs u out after what seems like a short period inactivity. So a vicious cycle is created: the need to constantly log in and the redownload the lecture you want downloaded. This is on iPhone 13. Haven’t tried it on other platforms yet, but it makes listening while driving unpleasant and dangerous. I called about the problem, left msg and was told i would get a call back. 3 days later…still waiting. Sad when attempts to improve an app by debugging actually make it worse.
I can wax poetic about things that ensure this app is only minimally useful, but I think it'll be most enlightening if you: 1-Sign in with end user access (not admn/builder access) 2-Pull up the CORTICAL SYNDROMES lecture in Neurology Initial Certification course. And that's it. That exercise alone should demonstrate its major flaws. Even a generic mobile browser is more functional than the sucky app itself, but unfortunately doesn't allow download for on-the-go.
The app design wasn’t great to begin with (lectures annoying to access) but it was working. Suddenly it won’t load any question blocks for me today. In addition to not being able to break down topics by diagnosis on exams, this is pretty annoying. For $1000 ($500 with a huge group) I would expect more.
For the amount of money that I paid for Beat the Boards (including the 50% off group discount), this app should work WELL. Instead we get a poorly designed app that in my case is not even giving me the option to go through the material I paid for just a couple of months ago. Do better please?
App stops working when phone goes into sleep mode. Can’t listen to lectures while driving, like other apps. App does not remember my sign in information, so I have to enter it each time...but can’t do that anymore, since I can’t use it while driving. When I called API, they said they were working in it. That was weeks ago. They can do be better!
This course is $1000 per person to buy. Where are the app engineers who actually know how to construct one that works ? I can ignore that it’s not fitting to the dimensions of the phone and there are glitches where videos don’t play on the first tap, but for there to be NO AUDIO AT ALL for any of the videos to listen to while I’m in the car seems incredibly stupid and unacceptable. This app is supposed to extend the lectures to be something you can listen to on the go, it utterly fails.
App doesn’t even work most of the time.
Works well enough but clunky to get through. Desperately needs ability to speed up playback which is available on website.
