Holding Me Back
I think this app has much promise, and I will be prepared to re-evaluate my review as updates and improvements are made. For now, however, my main issue is that AnyLang appears to make no distinction between one’s native language and one’s target language. Instead, the choice of language applies to the entire app and not just to its teaching content. I’m a big proponent of comprehensible input, but that should apply only to the curriculum and lessons themselves and not to the navigation commands and settings of the app. In my case, I would want the app functions to be labeled in English while the content of books and videos and so on would be in Spanish. But unless I’m overlooking it, there appears to be no option for this, and this is a deal-breaker for me, I’m sorry to say.
