This app makes me sick

Meituan share bike app is not fit for purpose. You park your bike in one of their dedicated places and still try to charge you. Appeals to the customer services don’t work. TL;DR they are thieves, avoid at all costs. Developer response to my complaint in English was a generic reply in Chinese, so they obviously haven’t read it and don’t care.

1. For many services, subscriptions and apps, if you pay, then you benefit from an ad-free service. Not in china. By using this app the implication is that I’m about to pay for a service. Money is already being generated for 美团. Therefore it’s not very nice to bombard me with ads between every other tap of a button. It’s very aggressive and sneaky advertising. They should be more professional and respectable. Furthermore I find receiving meituan SMS marketing a further abuse of my custom. If I am paying you guys money, don’t take so many liberties! 2. I think this app might be breaching privacy rules!? In my location setting I have this app set to use my location only whilst using the app. However many times my phone has a blue bar at the top saying that this app is accessing my location. And no this is not when I’m using a bicycle. Usually when I go into the app, then it will stop tracking, as though it just woke up. But this has happened many, many times and I find it disturbing. 3. This is regarding the use of the bicycle function, specifically, using the map. Sometimes we need to zoom in to the map to see more clearly. When I do this, using pinch and zoom, after a few seconds it always zooms back out again (goes small/far away). This is highly frustrating when I just want to locate a bike nearby, or I need to get my bearings when riding. 4. When reporting a problem for bicycle repair, I am always FORCED to take a picture. The main problem is that these pictures are saved to my camera roll. Over time I have to report problems with many bikes, then later I find so many photos of your bicycles in my camera roll and I have to clean it up. That’s me doing extra work to help you, and then being given more work. It does not encourage the reporting of issues but in fact discourages it. 5. Finally, I appreciate that in China most people will speak Chinese. But please please just make an English version? I’ve been using this app for like 3+ years and when problems happen it’s so troublesome. I am learning to read chinese but it takes a long time and I’m far off being able to read the app for bike rental, deliveries and so on. WeChat does it. Meituan can too. It is possible and there are plenty of English speaking users.

The least helpful customer service. The hotel has cleanness issues and the staff wasn’t helping. What’s more, the altitude is very very bad. Why would we pay the fee to get insulted. Disgusting !

Had numerous problems with delivery men not being able to find my flat. Food has been cold and damaged but they refuse refunds. Eleme is a much better option for delivery in China 👍🏻
