MosaLingua - Learn Languages

I love the concept and I am user for a long time, but please fix your app, it’s so buggy..

I really wanted a spaced repetition app that was more approachable than the donit yourself software. This looked like it had an excellent system and very deep list of vocab. At first I felt like I was making progress and even bought a premium subscription. The main problem I had was their choice to include lots of phrases, and many cards including two words and sometimes two definitions. The problem with phrases, is specifically with questions. The question “Are you free on Saturday” can be formed in 6 different ways in French, with half having different conjugaison from the other half. It’s just a stumbling block that comes up again and again trying to remember not just how to ask the question but which one of the six forms it meant to be. Same with the “two words, two definitions”. They’re proximate in meaning, but part of the memorisation task you are required to perform is remembering which cards have only one word and which ones have two. I can see that they though grouping similar words together was a help but it actually makes for more headaches and makes progress more difficult than it needs to be. Finally, the UI on the app is just barely holding on to life by 2020s standards and could really use a redesign, but honestly that was not the reason I chose to leave.

This app is user friendly and comprehensive. Above all the authors are very responsive to questions. Tonight they responded within 10 minutes of my email with a very helpful response. I would recommend to anyone who wants to improve their language acquisition.

Easy and fun, with lots of opportunities to practice, listen and then memorise words through different repetitive methods!

I’ve been using the flash card part of the app for 2 years now, highly recommended. Best part for me is that when I create my own flashcards by simply copying text, the app manages somehow to pronounce the new words in excellent French, and I’ve copied some pretty obscure words! I’m now mainly copying example sentences of tricky French grammar from another highly detailed resource instead of just learning new words. Spaced repetition works perfectly, without the awful complexities of Anki. It’s a great way of getting your brain used to difficult grammatical constructions. I also had very good tech support when I had problems adding another language.

Lots of fun to learn a language.

This app is an incredibly well rounded resource for learning a language. Nothing comes close to it. It interweaves stories and videos (with narrations) with an in depth spaced repetition system, and assistance with pronunciation and grammar.

I have been using Mosalingua every day for nearly 3 months as part of my learning of Italian. I have tried quite a few apps/web sites (including Duolingo, Babbel and Forever Fluent) and I have found Mosalingua to be definitely the best. It is easy and fun to use, the example sentences are realistic (ie not contrived - which is the case with some alternatives, in my experience) and it is very cost-effective, with lots of resources (plus additional ones for a fee) to be able to try different ways of learning. And if you have a query, or think you have found a bug or an error in a translation, they are prompt to respond - and always say thank you!

This app has a very good hands free feature. It is very good for leaving vocabulary but the other aspects are pay as you go.

It's a good language app but very limited in the free version. I get they need money but you cant really learn a lot if your not paying from the content they have there. I also wish they would add more languages, I get that this is very difficult but if you could, developers, could you add Indonesian or Mandarin or something? That would be awesome and yeah if your willing to pay its a pretty good app. (Also sorry about the lack of punctuation the review thing does weird stuff with it😅😄)
