It’s a simple app that almost works well. Two big problems. First problem: the lightest scent level is overpowering. What you want to do is have periods of time where different areas are scented controlled by a schedule. Instead the scent is so strong that you have to use the schedules as a second method of turning the scent on and off so it is not so strong. This makes the app much more challenging to use, and then scent level in your house constantly changing. I don’t know why they did this, of course, but you can’t help but wonder if they are just trying to drive up sales of their scents. Their scents are GREAT. But when someone walks into my home I want a light, pleasant smell rather than feeling like you’re stuck in an elevator with someone drowned in perfume. Second problem: often when you try to connect to a scent machine to change scent levels, it doesn’t work. I now have two of these and there are periods where both fail to connect repeatedly and restarting the app doesn’t fix it. AromaTech has great scents, great scent machines, and the app is almost great, but these problems really detract from the overall results in your home.

I purchased the AromaTech Mini with the expectation that I’d be able to customize its schedule through the app and make changes as needed. Unfortunately, that has not been the case. While the device appears in the app, attempting to access it results in nothing but a continuous loading screen. I’ve followed every troubleshooting step suggested by customer service — including deleting and reinstalling the app, restarting my phone, and unplugging the device — but the issue remains unresolved. As a result, I’m left with a diffuser that runs every 60 seconds, 24/7, with no way to adjust its settings other than turning it on or off manually. Had I known this would be the outcome, I would have opted for the less expensive model without app functionality. To make matters worse, neither the original Scenting app nor the updated AromaTech app works. This suggests a broader technical issue that has yet to be addressed. It’s deeply frustrating to invest in a premium product marketed as “smart” when the core technology is unreliable. Adding to the frustration is the level of support I’ve received. Response times are slow, and replies have not meaningfully addressed the problem. Being told my device is out of warranty and offered 20% off a new machine feels dismissive—especially since the device itself works fine. The issue lies entirely with the app. At this point, I am requesting a more thoughtful and permanent resolution to this problem. I hope AromaTech stands behind its products and the experience it promises customers.

Need ability to create custom schedule.

It used to be manageable, you can set timer or turn on and off as needed. You have to schedule it in order to even just turn it on for 15 mins. For the price of the diffuser and the oil, please do better!

It may be just my experience but I like the simplicity of the app. I agree the scent is strong, however I only use 2 of the 5 time setting options provided; one for the weekend and one for week days. I have an 8 min window for each of them since the spray goes off every 10s and then stops 120s at level 3. So it ends up going of 3 - 4 times a day. And outside of that 8 min window the machine is off. The scent lasts in my small apartment so this app/device works for me and what I wanted it for.

The app which is used to control your diffuser lacks capabilities making this diffuser not any better than it's Chinese competitors resulting in a mistrust in the AromaTech brand. As what you thought you purchased into was a premium product. You are mistaken after purchase. please update the software of this application and improve user experience of your products it's a livelihood of the AromaTech brand depends on it. Title says it all, I believe this app is so terribly made that it makes the product feel cheaper. I bought the Ambience device, rated for 100-1,000+ sqft. I use it in my 140sqft bedroom on low and the scent is WAY overpowering. This app supports schedules. 5 total. I can’t create more, but I have to use all the schedules for 20 minutes a day every 2 hours so I can spread out the diffusion enough to not make my home smell like I spilled the oil bottle. App does not allow me to create and delete schedules beyond the initial 5. More importantly, the app can only schedule the diffusion, not the light or the loud beep the machine emits whenever you manually turn it on/off. I can’t have the light turn on while the device is diffusing, or program it to only be on during the daytime. The lowest strength setting is significantly stronger than a 140sqft room can handle, though the Ambience device is marketed as being fit for rooms 100-1,000sqft. If this app simply let me run the device for 5 second diffusions at an interval I choose (1, 2, 3, …60min), then I would recommend this device to all my friends. I can’t believe the company behind a well-built device would even allow this app to get released considering how cheap is makes their device seem.

The schedules don’t work in the app for the Ambience Diffuser. Also there doesn’t seem to be a way to delete schedules if they did work. Can’t figure out how to schedule lights with schedules that don’t work. For $185 diffuser you would expect user ease of use with your app. Please work on your app! Please also work on a lighter scent.

I do not understand, like others have said, why you can’t set your own schedule rather than one they suggest with very limited alterations available. Scents are too overpowering even at the minimum setting especially in a smaller room. We don’t all have giant rooms! Needs to be updated to be way more personally adaptable. Also, why can’t I control the light color or even have on a timer in the app too? I don’t want it on 24hrs a day, but I also don’t want to hear the extraordinarily loud high pitched beep when I turn it on or off. Especially if using a night while people are asleep!! We should be able to choose no beep. And when the light is on and off each day. Surprises this is on Oprah’s List! She obviously never used it and was simply paid to promote. Very disappointed! Especially for such as high price point. Cmon AromaTech - do better!

Save your money. Just buy their scent and buy an entirely different system for 80% of the cost. App is useless too.
