Articulation Station Hive

This app is great and I use it daily. However every time I do a sound and go to go in another one, the button disappears and I have to close the entire app and start over again. This is just very frustrating as I use this app for multiple kids who are working on multiple sounds

Hive is a game-changing tool for pediatric SLPs working with speech sound disorders. As a longtime Little Bee user, I highly recommend this app for its new gems, including a diverse collection of games, comprehensive word lists with multiple vowel sound options, and targeted activities great to use with those with apraxia. I own the previous version of Articulation Station, I would have loved to upgrade to this app, instead of having to pay on subscription basis. I am happy to support a business, but it is hard to justify when working through material reimbursement as a therapist, when I’ve already purchased similar material. Content is wonderful, but I would love to be able to put goals into the profiles. The notes section would be useful, however you cannot use punctuation, skip to a new line, or even use spaces.

I started my CF and was preparing to make physical artic cards… but as time went on, the less time I had to make them! Then I thought I’d give this app a try (after borrowing my co-worker’s app for a few days). For me it is worth the investment—I use it with ALL my articulation kids, love how REAL images are used (not clipart), matching games, customize theme, etc.

I have had my membership to Articulation Station Hive (and now Test Center Hive) for a few months. For my clients with speech sound disorders, it is quickly becoming my favorite app to use in speech therapy. And my clients love it too. My first favorite feature are the minimal pairs. These are not only help when specifically employing the minimal pairs therapy approach but great for kids with both phonological errors and articulation challenges. I love how I can use it for feedback with kids and to teach them to self-monitor. My other favorite feature is how the 2 apps in my Hive subscription talk to each other. So I can use Test Center to evaluate and then the client along with their data is already in Articulation Station when I start therapy. The parents I have recommended the app to, have also been happy using it at home for carry-over of our clinic-based work. This app and the subscription is very comprehensive. I love that I have the app on my Mac laptop, my ipad and my phone so I can always pull it out in a session no matter which supplies I have with me.

I don’t regularly write reviews but just had to because ever since getting Articulation Station Hive It has saved me so much time and stress. All the prep I was doing before with boxes of speech sound cards and having to haul them for push-in sessions or organize them before the next group came into my room… that’s all gone. I love being able to even go right back to what we worked on the last session easily in the app! Some of my favorite things are the isolation and syllable levels being added- the speech sound cues are so stinkin’ cute! I also love being able to do minimal pairs! This also saved me so much time writing progress reports! I just went back to the scores and grabbed ALL the data for the child since the beginning of the school year. Seriously this has been worth every penny when it comes to convenience, time and stress. The kids love it too!

I really enjoy this app, there are so many options and it keeps my students entertained. I only wish that there were more options in terms of games, and targets (for example polysyllabics, not necessarily by sound). i also wish little bee would expand to some grammar targets as well!

I love this platform but as a teacher the price is too high. Would much rather buy outright than pay yearly.

I am pretty baffled at the decision to move to a subscription instead of a one-time purchase with this new app. A subscription might be valuable if content were changing or updated every month, but this is not the case. I cannot justify spending so much regardless of my caseload. It’s a shame since there are some good features! My students liked the images for sounds in isolation. Another idea for making this app more reasonably priced could be to separate all the “extras” like emailing parents and the complex data options that don’t seem very functional or realistic for most SLPs.

I use this app every day with almost every client I have with speech production issues. It addresses isolated sounds ( vowels, consonants, and blends) up to conversation. At the isolated level, it has videos with hand cues. At the word level, there are flash cards, min8,Al pairs, and matching games. There are rotating and unique phrases and sentences and leveled stories. And then, at the conversational level, you can discuss scenes or answer questions. It is absolutely worth the investment!
