Amazing but room for improvement
First things first, I love this app. The oil simulation is second to none and competitors are pretty much desktop only. But there is a lot of things that could be improved: - Charcoals and pencils could have tilt support and behave similar to what we use in real life for figure drawing, allowing fine lines and large shading (pencils also have really weird pressure curves, requiring a lot of pressure to achieve black lines) - Sometimes the pressure starts to behave oddly and I need to restart the iPad. Does not happen on Procreate. - I would love to be able to move the UI a bit to better accommodate my workflow, have it more free flowing like the desktop. - I would love to be able to remap undo/redo to use two/three finger tap - If I disable touch painting, I can’t pick colors with my fingers… I wish that I could pick colors only with my fingers or at least able to do it even with finger painting off. - canvas limits are kinda low at 4K. Perhaps limit layers and have bigger presets? As it is, at most I can do A3 for printing - palette knife sometimes has a hollow middle, creating two parallel lines as if that part of the knife wasn’t touching the canvas. Sometimes it is fully opaque. It is not clear why. - blending paint from the tube gives unexpected results. In real paint if I lay a thick cylinder of paint on top of an area and blend it, the color from the tube will overpower whatever I had before. Here it feels like the opposite, I can make it disappear into whatever already was on canvas (even blending without any loading) - Setting brush sizes is kinda hard, I wish it was a vertical slider - There is no clear documentation for tools and what each thing does. I’d love something like what procreate and realistic paint studio offer. - No easy way to set a brush to “always be at an angle”, it seems to always be perpendicular to the pen. Aspect and rotation seem to do nothing. Compared to what I see in desktop, this is odd behavior. - Transformation and masking tools are sorely lacking and missing
