Astera makes excellent fixtures and they have become indespensable on a film set ..... running on CRMX input, NOT on the App which is VERY unreliable. We are many proffesionals that have used it for a while, but NOBODY can make quick changes through the App. The Talkback+ is fair, but needs the IR remote to do certain things which is stone-age like.... The recent update seems even worse. Please do a complete redesign.

Why does this app constantly notify me to turn on Bluetooth to connect to devices? Like every couple minutes when my screen is on and the app is not even running. Very annoying. Not all of us want our Bluetooth on constantly. Will uninstall because of this annoyance.

From the perspective of a Board Operator these fixtures are useful however the app isn’t. Other than an initial update to the art7/fixtures and pair to box and crmx link start a show the dates android tablet and app are long forgotten about until tube run into problems. Personally I try only use them through a console. Don’t get me started on the power boxes though🤦🏿‍♂️ can we get a display screen please?

Takes a little time and practice to understand how everything works. Once you have some experience under your belt the possibilities are endless. The app is definitely easier than controlling them over dmx. It gets better and better with every update!

This app is horrendous. I’m currently sitting on the concrete on the ground floor of a parking garage on a holiday weekend trying to update all of these Titan tubes and the app just won’t cooperate. I’ve been in the lighting world for 20 years and I’ve never met a more frustrating system. I have 72 titans running. 48 were running fine all day then all of a sudden the Art7 transmitter decided to update in the middle of the day. After the update, 43 of my tubes are not showing up in the app now. They are rigged in housings that are mounting the concrete ceiling. They can only be reached with a lift. All of the other technicians have gone home and here I am dealing with this garbage software. Fix what is broken before you add more junk. You’re wasting my weekend. Thanks for nothing.

App is quite buggy.

The pairing process is too convoluted and quite often the lights become un-paired for no logical reason. Good functionality and features, but poor pairing resulting in too much wasting of valuable set time.

The app makes complex programming easily accessible and fast. There are still glitches when instruments belong to multiple targets and the user switches quickly between them - changes are frequently applied to the wrong target possibly due to extremely laggy performance on some Android devices. Overall extremely useful and though It’s not necessarily intuitive, the learning curve isn’t very steep. If you’re mobile or run-n-gun, it’s definitely the way to go for deep control over Astera fixtures.

I have the pixel tubes and I cannot figure out how to connect the lights on my IOS device. The app is not user friendly for IOS devices. It’s as if they made the android version of the app available for iPhone users to download but it doesn’t function correctly. I’d love some help.
