Pretty Good but small glitches
I do a lot of live looping and have synced this to AUM clock and other gear being used. MIDI mapping is useful for fx changes and transport buttons work well for stopping, starting, recording etc.
My only real complaint is the midi mapping causes crashes. For example I have two loops running and sliders of a midi controller mapped to the tremolo effect and the comb filter. If I try and change two parameters or more at the same time it often (not every time) causes a crash. If this was fixed it would be a fantastic tool. I use a work around where I use external effects after the looper in the chain.
COULD be awesome.
Just to be clear, I am only talking about the free version here. But this is an odd one. There’s so many things that other music apps get wrong (like pre and post FX) that this one totally nails. But at the same time there are some really basic features that could make this a seriously usable app. Just adding the ability to crop your samples, or change a start point, mute a small section, or at very least add fade ins/outs, would make all the difference. Any one of those things could take this from being a toy that’s amusing for two minutes, to being something I might actually be able to use in my studio. It’s like they’ve got the hard stuff right (smooth pitch-shifting for instance), but they just seem to have skipped on the absolute basics. Also (and I might very easily have got this wrong), but the countdown you get before a recording starts seems to match the length of time that you want to record. This is a nightmare! I can’t imagine that anyone wants a countdown of less than two seconds, or more than 8 seconds, for anything musical at all. You need long enough to move from pressing record to what you actually want to record, but not so long that you forget your timing or where you are. After recording endless loops of just my fingers clicking between apps I simply gave up.
Good but a few bugs…
This app is easy to use and very fun but the only things I thought were strange, are
1. Sometimes it doesn’t record, it just turns green like nothing has been recorded when you press a 2 4 or 8 or 1.
2. If you spotlight a recording and then delete it, the whole thing mutes.
Other than that, VERY FUN!
Easy to use but lacking essential features
Nice looking easy to use looper but midi bindings for individual tracks to stop/ start and an easily accesible mixer would have made this a useful looper for backing tracks. Suggest programmers take a look at Quantiloop and add the suggested features..
Meh!
I’m just disappointed that when I export it doesn’t add the changes that I made to the recording so it’s a waste of money for me
Features still missing
I just don’t get why this app does not have even rudimentary trimming capability, or a way to sync recordings to when AUM transport is started. If it had those, it would be so much more useful. )-:

It’s great!
It’s easy to get lost in a sea of iOS music apps and doing very little creating of music. This has broken that cycle for me. I love it! Please keep up the great work man. Thank you
No MIDI Clock Sync
I can’t use this app without being able to sync from external clock as loops will never end up being recorded in sync with my external gear. I’ve had the Loopy HD app for years which has always been able to do this.
Top looper
If you’re into building layered loops then you’ll be impressed with this beast:)
Only gripe is loop lengths:( will odd loop times be added in future updates?
I found it quick to pick up, v good for youngsters?
On startup this goes straight into a tutorial how-to that gets you started. All I can say so far, is I realise with guidance, even my very young niece and nephew can get going with this.
That puts it light years ahead of some rivals. The ability to start creating music or rap or performance poetry, is a fantastic opportunity for a budding musical type.
I did a completely bananas version of ‘cocaine’ and will explore it for more serious musical endeavours but deploying this as a ‘round robin’ game for family to express creativity, is the thing that hits me immediately.
A great app, thoughtfully executed, reverb etc are in there which is so convenient. So it has to be five stars from me. Coupled with Apple’s message via text, i sent my ridiculous rip-off of jj cale/clapton’s work to our daughter who got a laugh out of it.
All I did was do an impression of every instrument and layered or looped it up, there needs be a more measured attempt from me but that’s for later.
