An Australian Government mobile application that you can use to lodge an Australian Electronic Travel Authority (ETA) application. The ETA allows eligible passport holders to travel to Australia for short-term stays for tourism or business visitor purposes.

German Passport
Doesn’t work with new german passport, the app is stuck in processing scan…
What a poor experience
Poor process and no clear logic in asking for all kind of information. Other countries can do way better. Maybe look and learn!
New Swiss Passport doesn’t work
The app is not able to scan the new (2023) version of the Swiss passport
Does not work with the new Swiss Passport
With the new Swiss Passport (mine) App is stuck in ‚processing document,. I tried with an old Swiss Passport (family member) and there the app does recongnize the passport after 2 seconds.
Best way to apply
Once you get the app and you’re in the system, reapplying is super easy. You don’t have to start an application from scratch.
Impressively slick
With the Passport scanning, auto complete, and Apple Pay, I barely had to type anything and very quickly sailed through the application. I thought I would have to coach my mother but she easily got it done herself. My only complaint is that with the newer US passport, it seems to better scan by passing over the rear of the book and not on the picture page.
USA chip is on BACK COVER
Instructions are wrong, and no support is available during early steps. If you get through that challenge the app is usable.
