How it works?
Connect with your partner and swipe through baby name cards together. If you both like the same name, it's a match and is added to your favorites list, so you'll never forget it. One name will last a lifetime.
The Babyname app features over 30,000 unique names – each with its meaning and origin. Like how the name Lucy means light, and Yunus means Dove. That’s nice, isn’t it?

What’s more, if ridding your home life of any added stress and unwanted arguments wasn’t enough, Babyname also gives context to your choices, revealing the origins and meanings behind the names. Good idea- poor names
Very poor selection of names for Irish babies. Didn’t see any of the more standard Irish names and some very strange ones... never mind a good idea!! Don’t like the way it tries to squeeze funds also. Good idea on how it works though so it gets 2 stars for that!
Where are the names from?
The English names aren’t English, there are loads of surnames in there. Who made this?!
App review
Did not like this App. You have to pay for additional filters such as nationality. You can select gender and another filter at once however you cannot apply two paid filters such as nationality and Alphabetical order at once.
could’ve been nice, but
One thing that really disappoints is the developers way of trying to maximize their revenue in a cheesy way. you will need to pay multiple times to get what you want. for example paying for filters is different from paying to remove ads. it would have been easier and more transparent to have free version, and a paid version that just includes all. or a clear way to select suitable options that give you exactly what you want without having to pay more later to unlock more. the app looks good. but I was disappointed to see the same names appear repeatedly, in the same or different spelling. Also there are names that have incorrect meanings or spellings. Needs some work.
Filters are a waste
Concept is great with quality of names and meanings are useless. Irish filter is very bad - it is more random Irish words than Irish names
Good concept
Good for a free app. Looking at some of the other reviews I wasn’t convinced the paid version was worth it. The connectivity with your partner is great. Definitely seen repetition of rejected names as mentioned by other users.
The Irish names are last names
Irish names are not places in Ireland or Irish surnames. No one in Ireland names their kid Murphy, Kearney, Connolly. Those are last names. Not first names. What a bastardisation. Teegan is not an Irish name. That’s a made up American name to sound Irish. Cashel is a place. No one in Ireland has that name. Neil, Connor, Rory, Tadhg, Liam, Fionn, these are Irish names. Also stop spelling them stupidly to be different.
Interesting concept
Poorly executed. The "Irish" filter is a joke. "Feardorcha" - translated as dark skinned man is a name suggestion
