Baldur's Gate - Dark Alliance

This game is awesome. A really fun dungeon crawler / loot grinder. I see a sequel to this was made back in the day, hopefully it gets ported to iOS too!

It is hard to believe that this is being passed off as a Baldur’s Gate game. It is so boring and tedious. All you do is go from room to room to room hacking up hoards of monsters. That literally is it. Treasure chests only ever contain potions of healing or mana restoration. there is no variety to anything. The game has stupid checkpoints, which means you can’t save whenever you want and have to reload multiple times if you get killed. The archer class is completely useless as it is impossible to aim for any of the enemies – you end up firing at the wall or in the wrong direction completely. The camera angle also keeps changing itself around, when it feels like it which makes things even more problematic. There appears to be zero storyline and there is zero sense of exploration and there is zero atmosphere. This game is absolutely dreadful. You can’t even give your character its own name or customise your class in any way whatsoever, even on levelling up.

Disappointing as the games hangs on scenes with extended dialogue.

Just started playing and so far found 1) You can not generate or even name your own character. You are stuck with 3 pre-generated characters, Dwarven fighter, Human arcane archer- an elf only class in D&D, and eleven sorceress. This doesn’t create a feeling for being involved in the game. 2) The controls are mediocre at best. It is possible to enlarge the controls in the menu, But even at max size, they are too small. The attack button has no repeat attack so you have to press it for every attack and sooner or later you end up on jump or one of the other controls and die, a lot. Hopefully this game will improve with more time spent playing. But the two items above will remain issues unless they are fixed by the programmers.

Hours and hours of dungeon exploration. Somewhat brainless fun, but defo lots of fun

Just bought this for iPad using iOS 17.2 and the interaction controls don’t work. I can screen tap to move and progress a scripted dialogue with the barmaid but I can’t activate any of the “Talk to..” actions or “open door”. So I’m stuck in Elfsong Tavern just 2 minutes into the game. Waste of money.

This is a brilliant port feels the same as when I first played it on Xbox all them years ago can’t wait for number two to be ported

We need Dark Alliance 2 like 1 year ago. What are the devs doing??

Very disappointing as struck in a dialogue with Fayed in the Crypt level 1; just keeps looping around chat on 3 urns. Can’t get past, have deleted and reloaded the game several times to no effect. Zero response from the customer service for the devs, so don’t waste your time or money.

God I loved playing this game again and it was just as good as I remembered when playing on my old game console years ago. Fantastic atmosphere, story and old school graphics. I was reading some of the comments on here and I can’t understand the complaints about the controls as I haven’t experienced any issues what so ever. I know that there was an update recently, did this remedy this. Great game and hopefully Dark Alliance 2 comes to Mobile soon as well.
