BASIC: programming language

De sterkte van deze app ligt in de toegevoegde functies en faciliteiten voor tal van toepassingen. Vooral de mogelijkhid om 'sprites' te genereren en te manipuleren geeft ideale mogelijkheden voor het maken van games. Er bestaat zelfs de mogelijkheid om zelf gemaakte apps te publiceren in de Apple store.

Basic (1971) was initially a simple programming language, developed by Dartmouth College to quickly teach people to program. Now after 50 years a mr K. developed SmartBasic, which still meets that same requirement of easyness, but..... now so much richer in new and modern functionality that even the most experienced hobby programmer will be able to express his creativity.

Ik gebruik dit tool al 7 jaar om mijn programmerings hobby uit te leven ("Henko" op het smart Basic forum). Na een lange "update-loze" periode heeft de ontwikkelaar (mr. K) er voor gekozen om deze geweldige Basic versie weer te onderhouden. Dat is dan wel ten koste gegaan van de ingebouwde Dropbox functie, die van Apple moest worden verwijderd. Ik ga geen lange review schrijven, maar in het kort: - zeer veel functionaliteit - geschikt voor modulair programmeren - goede, zeer snelle support op het forum door de ontwikkelaar

I recently got this app because my grandpa taught me how to code in BASIC when I was a child and I wanted to relearn it. I knew I wanted good documentation to support my learning. I was worried because some of the other reviews talked about the documentation not working but I had no trouble. I have had a lot of success writing programs and the examples in the app are very helpful too. I'd recommend this to anyone that wants to code in BASIC on the go. The compiler can handle a surprising amount and runs very smoothly!

All my attempts to register and access support and forum have failed (and yes, I did check the spam folder for an email). If that can be fixed, then I’ll give this app five stars.

Very nice app for an old man like me who use to program in Basic back in the day. However the support forums don’t exist anymore. I wish I could get a refund or partial refund. I was hoping to use the forums. I wish I knew this before I purchased it.

Keep losing data. Entered programs.
