The NBA would be a great basis for a sports management game. Unfortunately this game does not deliver. It caters to fans who want a fantasy-sports-like experience and to whom it is fun to collect their favorite teams and players. It has a few bugs, no is nowhere as unstable as last year, where it was unplayable for me. There isn't really any real management or strategy going on. The games you play against others mean absolutely nothing except for a few rewards and the box scores are ridiculous. On a team with Kevin Durant, James Harden, Russell Westbrook and Demarcus Cousins it is Taj Gibson who continuously goes off on tripple doubles with 50+ points. In one game he had 12 steals! The daily contest is a pretty good idea though. You select a number of players from your squad and then hope they do well in the evenings game in real life. But why not give you credit for the leveling up of players you have done? Ie. a level 15 James Harden should get slightly better points than a level 10... Bind together the two parts of the game more. And let the performance in the fictional games play a role too. There is no fatigue, no morale, no way of using a power forward at center, no concept of a point guard etc. etc. and the way the strength of players is calculated, is ridiculous. Who would you put on the bench: Curry, Harden or Westbrook? In this game, right now, Curry is rated lowest of the three. How about taking PER into account? Shooting percentages? Look, I get that this isn't the kind of game I am looking for, but here's to hoping it will get made.
