I love the simplicity, it’s my new DAW on iPad… I only suggest that you maintain classic, quality instruments and label them in an easy-to-find fashion
Man I own this app when it first came out and made some of the best beats ever back in 2012 and such. Now the app is just shish with a payed subscription of 50 dollars a year. It’s really sad how updates and not being able to buy a lifetime usage really killed this once beautiful app. Rest in peace old Beatwave 🫡🫡🫡 😭😭😭😭
I love how entry level and simple it is, but I think it could do with more instrument and note customization, as well as more instruments in general
The original developer of this app sold it to MWM and they turned an app where you could buy music packs individually to gain new sounds to use into a subscription based service where they haven't updated the app in more than a year which makes it seem as if they gave up on this app. If anyone wants to get into making music on their mobile device you should probably use FL Studio Mobile ($12.99 at the time of posting this review). It is paid but the sounds and the things you can do are greater than the things you could ever do in Beatwave, and I know that is the case whether it was the old version of this app by the previous developer, or whatever this borderline scam of a shell of what this app used to be could do, because I have used FL Studio Mobile. It is rated #2 as a music app (the #1 app is not even used for creating music). This app is rated so low it isn't even in the top 200 music apps so please don't get this app and instead get FL Studio Mobile. It does have a bit of a learning curve but it is more for people who want to create music at a intermediate level instead of a beginner level, which is what I'm assuming this application is for. You can look up tutorials and you will be happier using FL Studio Mobile instead. Trust me.
Beatwave was nice before they chose to make users purchase a subscription. So all of my previous purchases are gone now. Also it crashes in the middle of projects. Oh, and the trial version now features several ads that pop up in the middle of creating… Formerly good app, turned to trash because of greed. 👎
I was making a good beat until it keeps exiting it out and now I have to start all over again
I have been a user of the OG Beatwave since it’s initial release way back in 2011. I purchased all the content available. I purchased a new iPad and when I reinstalled BW I can not restore anything? It seems to be trying to force me into repurchasing this new version that is exactly the same app. I was unable to install any of my purchases from within this version either. Seriously? I have been a part of the iOS music making community since it’s beginning and I have never hated on any developer. The OG app prompted me to contact support which I’ve been try to do with zero success as it looks as if they are purposely making it super difficult to get ahold of? I’m really frustrated. I spent money that I worked for on an app that I’m unable to use at my own expense so this new Beatwave team can create a subscription model for them to make money? So unethical and I feel like I’ve just been robbed. I’m taking this personally. The forums that I have been and am active on the daily in and since 2010 are gonna hear about all this. I’m super upset and it’s not about the money it’s the principle of it. Clearly you guys have non. How will you fix this for me personally? Your subscription is more for a week than the very first subscription I signed up for and is a full blown pro DAW. We all know what I’m talking about. Really a sad deal. You new owners of Beatwave should be ashamed of yourselves. Fix this crap man.
This app is so cool
I LOVED Beatwave 2, but this new version with the pay gate is really unfortunate. It's not worth $50+/yr. I guarantee sales and downloads have gone down since this started. And the support is nonexistent. I've emailed support in the last few months a few time, not one response. The question was simple: can I somehow share or convert project files from iPhone to iPad? I'd rather use the iPad version than iPhone. I want to work with my existing songs on a larger screen. Update 3/21/23: still no response from the dev team. Whoever took over this brilliant app doesn't seem to care about it. :(
