Some people can’t stand ads...
I’m one of them. There are very few apps I will tolerate ads on, especially if they’re apps that involve a lot of navigation, and/or ads that are intentionally located to cause you to open them. If it’s an app I like well enough to think I’ll use it, I don’t mind paying $1.99 for an ad free version. ...What I truly loathe are apps like “Between the Walls”, which prompts you to purchase an ad free version, and when you do the ad bar at the bottom goes away, but as you’re playing you will suddenly popped into a bingo or some game for six year olds, and you have to take multiple steps to get back to your game. That is pure deceit. It’s fraud as far as I’m concerned. I don’t believe you should trust the TOS agreement or the wan app maker who will do that to adhere to any parameters
