Booky Call - Book Discovery

It was a fun app but suddenly doesn’t work anymore. Somehow I was logged out and it won’t let me sign back in or change my password.

The “swipe history” is a little buggy, but I love this concept. Also it’s hard to say how much it actually learns from your swipes.

I’m really loving discovering all these great recommendations. I like the aesthetic of the app the way you can swipe like a dating app. It’d be great if you could mark books as already read. Or go a step further and be able to rate books to get better recommendations.

It’s not letting me sign up it just keeps giving me an error message, and when I try to take a tour before signing up it just immediately closes and crashes. i’ve heard wonderful things about this app so I hope that I can sign up and use it soon because I’m very hopeful. Once I can figure out how to get it to work I will come back and change my review because I genuinely believe in leaving an honest review for things

But every ‘match’ sends the same (I’ll be honest, rather cringe) “omg, thanks for swiping on me, sliding into your DMs.” Good to stumble on titles I might not have otherwise heard of though.

Cool concept. Not a fan of the small database of books.

I’m not sure why it asks for recommendations on genres if it doesn’t follow them. I rated romance and mystery as genres I really don’t enjoy and somehow that is all I was recommended.

This is a cool and fun app. It would be cool to be able to start by adding books you like. You can search but I was only able to find one book to add. I think their catalog is fairly small.

This app is great! For finding straight romances. I’ve seen very few LGBT romances, even when I searched for more well known titles. Most of the books featured are cishet relationships, and that’s fine, but that’s not what I’m looking for

These profiles do an excellent job creating hooks for characters and plot.
