First time I have used a food delivery service due to having Covid but both myself and my husband are so impressed we are considering using more often , we both have very busy jobs and this can save a huge amount of our time on the weekend.

Half my stuff didn’t arrive, had wrong items currently waiting for a refund one one item wasted a lot of money will be deleting the app once I receive my refund

I downloaded this to send some friends some drinks over Christmas because they couldn’t come home. It was a simple transaction only a few items purchased. Really easy. Was it though? No it was far from easy. First I spent over 15 minutes trying to explain to the shopper the crisps I wanted. Even though I said I would be happy to substitute. I ended up speaking to 2 different colleagues at the shop and then she then complained and said it would be more expensive to have the crisps I had already purchased as part of an offer and it would have to come out of her own money. She had £6.75 to spend on 2 packets of sharing crisps. In the end I settle for something that added up to £2.30 because she would not let up and just buy the crisps I had on the order because they were supposedly more expensive. Which meant that was an extra £4.45 not spent. Of my money. Then a bottle of champagne that wasn’t in stock and told me it would cost £14 which is correct. I then look at the invoice and I’ve been charged the extra for the crisps I didn’t spend and the champagne I had been invoiced for was £16.65. When my original choice cost just under £10 which was the same price on the app as it was on the supermarket website. I emailed help and support and their reply was if you agreed on the substitutes you cannot have a refund. So not only are they useless and don’t actually investigate what’s actually happened during the shop or admit that they invoiced me the wrong price for an item. They’re more than happy to take all the extra money they made from you and not refund that either. I’m well aware that apps like this costs more so that you can have it delivered but something that would have cost me £39.30 cost me £51.79 (without processing fees and a tip). I initially gave a 10% tip which mean it would have almost cost me around or over £60 altogether. I’ve now brought it down to 5% because of how awful the experience was and just because I felt sorry for the shopper as it was Christmas. Otherwise I wouldn’t even be paying the tip which including processing fee is now £55.12. You know I wouldn’t have even said any of this had the customer service had just been a little bit helpful and the shopper had not caused me so much stress on CHRISTMAS EVE.

Search function needs work as results are often not relevant and it is difficult to navigate to specific products.

They ask you to sign up with name & email address before telling you if they offer the service in your area! It should be the other way around! Useless.... So what are you going to do with my details now?

Got to airport hotel yday for five days of isolation before Covid test and thought Buymie would be the perfect way to avoid the shops. Was a bit tricky to find the hotel in the address selection but managed in the end. Was anticipating delivery within two hours (per “little as one hour” advertisement) but next slot was three hours away. No big deal. Except whenever I tried to select it on the app it said slot was unavailable. No availability later that night and next available slot was midday today. Logged into the app around midday to see time had been moved to 1pm but I didn’t get an email or app notification. Could see at 12.45 it still said my shopping hadn’t started. Spoke to customer service who were very nice but said 1pm couldn’t be done; 2.30-3pm possible but only rough estimate as couldn’t find a shopper/driver. Have requested cancellation and been told refund might take five days. App itself had a bug which made chat function unfriendly. Disappointing experience overall.
