I’ve been paying for the ad free version for three months and last month the ads started popping up again, even though my subscription payments were current. This app is almost unusable with the ads, and no one from the company responded to me when I sent a customer service inquiry.
I would like to know how much is going to cost me your app, before I download your app. Thanks.
I can't get a read on it with full screen ads blocking everything and no way to get around them
I like the app and its worth paying for the extra features. However, the app doesn't include your steps and I reached out to the company and had no response. Hopefully they fix it.
I really wanted this app to work because of the annual price. However, the data is all so screwed up. When you use the barcode scanner, it’ll pull up the food item, but with all the incorrect information. The macros and calories are no where near correct. The next thing is when I went to the free mode, the ads are RIDICULOUS. I understand the use of ads.. but there is an ad for EVERY FOOD ADDITION. When you click on a food to add it, an ad will pop up. I added 5 food items to my lunch and 2/5 of the foods didn’t post because the ad interrupted it. So I then had add that same food, and lo and behold, another ad would pop up. This is really stupid. Do not waste you time with this app. Do not waste your money for the premium version. Just don’t get this app. Sorry Calowise, but you need to have major improvements.
Update: I’ve been using this app for longer now and it’s actually terrible. It’s confusing to use, half the time the bar code scanning comes up wrong which is the whole reason I even got it, and I logged a bunch of food one day then went back just now and it had messed up all the serving amounts I had inputted. The premise is good but it has a lot of issues. The app is ok, but there are a lot of things wrong with it. It tracks overall daily calories correctly, but then when you look at the “meals” pie graph and the “nutrients” pie graph, the total amount of calories it says you’ve eaten all add up to different numbers. It was telling me I had 1,119 calories, 2,009 calories and 1,133 calories in the same day. So as you can see, it’s a pretty big discrepancy. 1,119 is the correct one and the one displayed on the Home Screen, but all the graphs where it shows how many calories you had out of your total are wrong. It also says “mustard active” instead of what I think is supposed to be “mostly active” under activities. There’s probably more stuff, but I’ve only been using this app for two days. My Fitness Pal is wildly more accurate, but they now charge a lot to use the barcode scanner, so that’s a nice feature on this app. I would like it to be updated so I can trust the information it’s giving me, but it’s not accurate right now. Also, it’s dangerous to eat less than 1200 calories per day, and it told me I should eat 900. It should be set to just stop at 1200 because 900 is not enough.
It’s misleading when an app does not charge upfront for you to download it, but it has no free abilities at all. You will need to purchase immediately before doing anything besides a meaningless survey to get your information before you find out that you have to pay a subscription. At least “my fitness pal” offers some free services without making you pay for the extras. This app offers you nothing but takes your information when you download it.
You can have the limited version for free but the ads will kill it, so I removed it. Will try other apps without being bothered by ads.
I did not realize how many calories I was consuming a day until I got this app. I knew I need accountability but I did not want to have to pay for a program. This is helping make better choices, stick to an actual serving size, and drink more water. I have not only made a normative weight goal but I have been able to maintain my weight. The reports are so helpful because my main purpose for weight loss was to be healthier.
