As of December 2024 there are 2 major issues with the pro version. First, If you are in a remote area with no data connection then the app won’t even start. So do NOT close the app completely in case you lose internet! Plus the offline map for France database is corrupted again and has been for 2-3 months. This first happened in April and took them 4-5 months to fix. Anyway the download is failing again at 85% as it did in April. Now tried it over 30 times, fails every time. Have reported bugs twice but no response from developers. Will try again in new year. The following is the sorry saga of the previous problems: The app works great when connected to the internet. However one the advantages up upgrading to the Pro version is the ability to download different country maps and data to use the app when offline. You should be aware the database for the France map is currently corrupted and will NOT download. It’s been like this for 3 months now, in that time I’ve tried it some 60 times. ALL the other countries download first time and work fine, only France always fails. (The developers keep telling me l must be doing something wrong, not enough memory or leaving the app etc. but trust me France will not download.) Others are having the same problem, there are a couple of threads about it on the Motorhome Fun blog. So if using the app offline in France is important to you, you may wish to think twice about upgrading to Pro. If you still have an old version of France downloaded for goodness sake don’t try to upgrade it. If the developers ever fix it I’ll re-review. Update summer 2024. The developers have finally recompiled the France offline map and it is now working fine. However bear in mind that you MUST NOT leave the app or allow your device to sleep whilst downloading the offline maps. The larger ones do take some time and be aware that they pause for quite a while at 85%. Also make sure that you have enough spare memory. France is best part of 1 gig.

As good as the Book copy but better.

We were aiming for another Aire when we came across this beautiful area. Several other vans already in place but still room for us. Public parking 100m to the right. Motorhomes park there also. Don’t know if services are working as not used. Three toilets available one was disgusting.

I’ve been complaining about not being able to retrieve my favourites in map view for months. Still not fixed with this latest update. This makes having favourites worthless. My payment for the pro version feels a waste. I’ve switched to using other apps that WORK. I may have to dump Camper Contacts if this fundamental issue is not fixed. Really irritated. It was once a really good app, but for me it’s useless now. 🙁

The App gives great clear information that helps campers to make up their minds as to whether the sites are going to be to their liking.

The app is easy to use with plenty of reviews of each site to help choose.

I was duped by this app’s false advertising thinking that I would be able to use it to find toilet chemical waste disposal points as these locations are notoriously difficult to find, as well as finding more remote/wild-ish camping spots, and with this intent in mind I was extremely disappointed with this app. You can’t use the filters in the app to search for locations that allow you to dispose of toilet chemical waste or wild camping spots unless you purchase their pro membership so there is no way of checking whether they have what you are looking for before you purchase their subscription. I took a chance on this app and purchased the subscription as we were on the road and needed somewhere to empty our toilet cassette urgently, and the good ratings and time spent researching led me to believe this may be a good option. Once I purchased the subscription, I carried out the above search just to find that the only locations listed were all around 200km away - the majority in France, and there were only 2 listed in the uk, both several hours north from where we were in the south west of England. If you use the filters to search for wild camping spots, there are again very few results, and absolutely none of the results I looked at were actual wild camping or secluded camping spots. They were all carparks that you would have to share with potentially up to 50 other campers, far away from what we were looking for. I’m sure this is fine for people that are happy to always go for more commercial campsites where they will have to camp close to other people, and if you are not looking for places to dispose of toilet/chemical waste. But if that is the case commercial campsites are easy for find online through a google search, without the need for a £4 per month subscription to an app, so frankly I wouldn’t recommend this app to anyone. I’m very frustrated that I wasted my money on subscribing to this to not get anything out of it at all and I can’t get my money back. I don’t care that it was only £4; the fact that you can’t check whether the app has what you need without paying the subscription and you then can’t request a refund on that subscription when you find out that the app doesn’t have what was advertised and what you are looking for, is scam-like behaviour and very unethical business practice.
