CamRanger Wireless DSLR Camera

I invested nearly $450 in camranger and pthub360 and was managing to use it with on/off problems with connectivity and threading issues in app. However, the recent app update is horrible and probably not tested at all. I can no longer enter numbers and configure any of my timelapse configuration on tripod tab in the app. Nearly wasted 45 minutes on field doing all sort of things. Guys don’t buy or invest in this. I wished I had some sort of disabled auto update of my app on my iPhone.

I’ve had the ranger for a few years now, and just updated the software. It works fine with my Nikon D800 with an iPhone 7 Plus. One glitch is I had to go into settings and turn off wifi then turn it back on again so CamRanger can pickup the transmitter-receiver at the camera. Once you do that, open the App. It may take 20-30 seconds to connect as it does the “handshake”. I have taken one star off because when shooting videos or photos, live view on the back of the cam is disabled. It would be nice to have this option even if it uses more battery. And the battery that came with the unit had died. For now I am powering the on camera receiver with a power block connected to the mini USB charging port. Works fine this way too. NOTE: No charger is supplied, just a mini USB to USB 2.0 cable so you can power it off another power supply or the USB port on your computer. Hope this helps! Frederic Hore, Montreal, Canada

Le système CamRanger est excellent et fonctionne très bien et offre beaucoup de possibilité. Je l’utilise avec un Canon 5D et un 7D et sa fonctionne très bien. Le Focus Stacking, HDR et Longue exposition vraiment bien fait.

Constantly shuts down. App just closes without notice. Choppy with video. Not happy with its performance.

The app is unreliable. Focusing, Intervalometer never work when you needed most. The only great about this app and the camranger itself which cost you $299.00 is you get to change the aperture/shutter in your device. Who ever invented this product never improve this app. They keep updating but never solve the problem.

Bought the equipment to use this app, and the camera doesn't connect (have d800). Even though I can see camranger on the network and can connect, whenever it establishes a connection to the camera, it immediately drops it. I see the mode briefly change on the camera before the app just drops the connection. Very buggy and unprofessional.

As a real estate photographer I use my camranger on every shoot. With my iPad in a carrying case on my hip camranger lets me control every possible feature I need remotely and view the images in full iPad retina quality. Absolutely love it.

I am a videographer. I use camranger to setup crane shoot, remote control when using DJI Ronin with single operator. I mount it near the handle, I can press the record button, change setting and serve as live view without touching my camera I would like to see an update with full screen live view instead of a tiny window. Please make horizontal mode for iPod and iPhone

Figure out your licensing!!! This is the third trip I have taken when I have not been able to use my CamRanger the entire trip because although connecting it before leaving once I get away from Internet it say I have no license and need Internet to activate. The product is good when it works but don't expect to be able to use it outside of cell service.
