Card Dungeon

Can only take or discard cards should be able to keep some of the cards you find as in some games you get a lot of monsters and get no weapon cards. Can not save game or re-spawn just start again a bit crap. The game could be a really good game if it was more balanced and give you a better chance to progress in the game instead of making it boring having to keep re-starting every time you get killed off maybe introduce a three lives and you are out system to make it more interesting, needs more work.

Pros: This game is fun and visually cool if you like a table top style dungeon crawler. Every level is randomly generated so it keeps it from getting boring in that way. Lots of cool cards to choose from. Different styles of game play and cards allow you to create your own strategy. New creatures and bosses on each level keep it exciting and interesting. It also has a unique sense of humor. Overall I definitely recommend this game. 4 STARS! Cons: The AI of the enemy’s is pretty weak, so in this way it’s easy to let enemy’s fall into obvious traps. Also not much complexity in the way that a lava monster can also be killed by a lava based attack. The game is challenging to start but quickly becomes too easy once you master the right card choices. It would have been a more rewarding game if there was some rewards systems in place, like getting medals or badges for clearing all the rooms of enemy’s, or killing multiple enemies in a single attack etc. Overall it needs to be more challenging.

Why cant you have a number count on cards to know how long till used up. Also why when you look at loot you have to swap or discard and lose it forever. Why cant you just drop it and return later to pick up. Almost 5 stars a great game awsome sound effects just needs a little more polish. Sort out drop rather than discard and already it's on to a winner. Or even have a card deck up to 10 cards you can swap around or even just 5 would be enough. Still worth buying has the game makes you smile when one hit kills all lol

I love rouge like games. I love board games. I love adventure games. I love this game. If your like me with the above then you should have no worries with this purchase. As a bonus it feels very clean and tidy due to the no ads and no iap

I do like this game but can only play for fifteen minutes or so at a time. The big problem is the slow pace. Having to wait for non-threatening monsters to each take a turn really makes the game boring. Exploring the levels becomes a chore. It should be so easy to include a fast move through previously explored rooms where the actual enemy monsters have already been killed.

A genuinely brilliant dungeon crawler. Plenty of scope for variations in combat and tactics, plus the three card system makes for some tense decisions. Recommended.

If a Hero Quest-style game with an ingenious, card-based combat system sounds ideal... Well, you're probably a geek. Like me. You'll also love Card Dungeon. Like me. Imaginative visuals, easy controls, amusing dialogue - I found this turn-based game instantly addictive. After a while, admittedly, you work out which cards are by far the best and your foes can't stand the heat - but that's a minor gripe. This is a terrific game at a bargain price. Buy a sequel? I would.

Fair play, the latest updates have fixed the bugs on my iPad 2. It's a very enjoyable game. Go for it if you have any interest in rogue likes or adventure games generally... Previous review below... OK, so I read the reviews which warned me it was buggy, but the developer released an update in November 2014 listing many fixes, so I thought why not? I like rogue-likes, let's give the developer a chance... It let me play the first level, but then the bugs started. The app closed at random points, for example, using a card which includes bleeding, or when trying to access the in game help button. I'm playing on an iPad 2, no admittedly not a new device, but this is hardly a groundbreaking app visually, and the details state that it works on iPad. So now I feel a little cheated, and have wasted £2.99. If the app gets fixed I'll come back and change my rating, but until then, I wouldn't bother if I were you. It's a shame, because the game itself is pretty good. Sigh.

This game isn't the newest and all the reviews I read said great idea, but with some issues. Most of those were before a few updates and I'm happy to say that it plays great, looks gorgeous and is really good fun. A good dungeon crawler with the limit of 3 cards in your hand means it plays different and you have to keep on your toes and try loads of different tactics. I'm very happy to recommend!

This game has remained on my iPad since launch. It mixes the influences in the genre perfectly with the best blend of video games and board games. It's 'just one more turn' addictive nature draws you into the atmosphere and you find yourself playing a few levels at a time. The visuals are slick quirky and the soundtrack perfectly complements them. Thumbs up!
