Why would you send out new telescopes with faulty codes? No one wants to struggle with a bad code when setting up equipment. Its frustrating and uselessly. The you direct that bad code for to download A DIFFERENT software that is only foe desktop computers.... why .....
If you allow the app a few seconds after moving to reorient and make the appropriate adjustment it works very well. It regularly places the object either directly in the eyepiece or within one field of view. My only complaint is I want them to sell the phone mount on its own so I can add it to my non-celestron telescopes!
The app works very well putting me on a lot of targets. The only other thing I wish could be added is the ability to record or log your findings and maybe a “notes” section add in your own details.
This app is good but need more objects
I'm attempting to view Jupiter with my telescope using this app. Jupiter has been visible by the naked eye clearly for several weeks. Although I’m looking directly at it, and using other apps, to view Jupiter, this app has me completely facing the opposite direction! As I'm typing this review, Jupiter is at my back folks. This app doesn't make sense.
I love my telescope but the app for it is just ok. Sometimes it’s not very accurate when finding objects or e every time I want to look for an object I have to start it over because it’s starts to act all wonky trying to find it’s location. Maybe a free upgrade to solve this issue then I’d give it a 5, but for now a 3.
The user interface has a number of serious shortcomings. Luckily SkySafari Plus and Pro (which I already use for reference, and was the foundation for the Starsense explorer app) has been updated with Starsense Explorer functionality. Switching to SkySafari and putting together a settings profile devoted to Starsense was able to alleviate all my issues.
There were a fair number of clouds hanging in the sky but it worked perfectly! As a beginner this is great because I was able to recognize features I otherwise wouldn’t have noticed. I see the other negative reviews and I can only assume they are not allowing the app enough time to relocate each time after moving.
I have tried everything to make this work with my iPhone 11 Pro. It consistently tells me to point the scope much lower than where my target actually is. Very disappointing. The scope itself, DX 102AZ is fine. The app though is useless. I’m back to old fashioned star hopping. I’m considering an 8” dob next but will not go with StarSense as it really doesn’t work.
