ChatInbox - Structured Mail

As a long time user of Unibox, which dropped support ages ago and it’s just a matter of time when the app won’t be functional anymore, I have struggled to find a good replacement… Even decent replacement was an issue. All the apps which claim they are People orientated are using it as a gimmick, it’s simply not that. This app has a tendency to fill the gap! I have subscribed as a Lifetime Premium user and will support them to bring this up to its full potential! It is still rough around the edges, has more features but a bit harder to use. I see it improving every week and devs are working hard on it. Support is very responsive, and they listen to users in their Discord channel. I am extremely pleased with this team and I hope they will be the one replacing all these mail clients soon enough. Best of luck going for that 5 star rating.

I tried it again once after they fixed the hang but while it has potential, it is missing too many core features to be really usable 1) I couldn’t find any efficient mechanism for moving emails to folders. Right-clicking and selecting Move To and then have to click through hundreds of folders is NOT usable. Take a look at how MS Outlook handles this kind of thing. 2) I couldn’t find key sequences for marking messages as spam 3) I couldn’t find any way to view the headers of a message 4) There’s no rules mechanism 5) Expanding a subfolder is very slow

I almost wish I had waited. I thought the app would be a decent replacement to Unibox, but it seems there are still kinks in the mechanisms. Took a few weeks for the notifications to show up and now emails are still marked unread after reading multiple times I paid for lifetime usage, but having had it now for over a month, I think I would’ve waited for it to improve a bit. Hoping the team builds on what they’ve got. There’s plenty of potential.

My wife and I had been using Unibox for years, but since last big Apple Update it is broken and it does not look like developers will be updated it anymore. My wife found this one to replace Unibox since we like chat style and she mentioned it to me, I was skeptical because it was so new and only had two written reviews. I tried it anyways and to my surprise I like it very much. It is nice to have the chat contact feature back! I decided to get in on their limited low price deal - Premium Lifetime. I recommend it for those coming from Unibox and it has better features than Unibox. I also recommend it for anyone who likes the personal chat style like Messages, by the way you can easily tap/click on icon and it will switch to old style email layout if that is what you prefer and then just as easily switch back. I am using both of their Apps for iPhone and Mac. It is simple to use and appealing to the eyes on both.

It does look like the developer is doing the best, which is showing in the consistent updates, And I’m here for it.

It seems that ChatInbox requires use of Microsoft Authenticator to connect a Microsoft email address… which is a pain if you don’t already use MS Authenticator. Still, after going through the hassle of connecting MS Authenticator to my account and having to update access on every other device and app connected to MS Office, ChatInbox still would not connect… an ill conceived requirement.

I only used the application for about an hour and found that the ‘An app-specific password was generated for your Apple Account.’ email from Apple would not display the body. (It was displayed on a different email app I was trying out.) A bit annoying was the settings window would always exit out after drilling down to a specific settings window and closing it. This app needs more work, and testing.

The concept is very sound, but to release an app that you can’t use keyboard shortcut or even normal keys like “delete” is a bit of a stretch. “Right click” actions was cool in Windows 95, not in 2024. I will monitor the app for updates, but right now I think its unusable as a daily driver.

This is the email app I've been waiting for years! The multi-dimensional organization of emails are incredibly helpful for managing both personal and work emails. Highly recommend to everyone.

Hey! This is the geatest mail app I've found for a while! Extremely useful organizing options. But please can you fix sunc issues. I have gmail account and i don't have an access to spam/trash folders at all. also some of the emails just not visible from inside tha app, but they're definitely in my inbox. I assume this is some gmail-internal mail labels issue. please fix i want so bad to throw out all other oldschoool useless mail apps!
