CheapCharts - Digital Deals

Overall, I really like this app, but at times it can be slow. At times when I open the app it’ll just stay frozen on the CheapCharts loading screen. I have to close and reopen it. Sometimes that’ll work, sometimes I do it over and over without success and just try again later. (I try it on WiFi and my cell service.) That can be really annoying. Also, sometimes it doesn’t load my wishlists, so I close the app and reopen to fix that issue. I actually just received an error in the app when trying to load my movie wishlist. I tapped on my tv show wishlist, then back to my movie wishlist and it was there.

This app is pretty awesome in what it offers. I find it very useful. I can see every digital movie and tv show that goes on sale. I can get an email when one of the movies or tv shows I have saved goes on sale. I can also see what digital movies have just been released in 4K, because that means the previously purchased Apple TV movie that I already own in HD switches to 4K. This is great info to have. The app isn’t perfect, in that the design and layout frustrate me a little. But the app has been stable and functioning just fine for the last 6 months I started using it. If you like to buy digital movies and tv shows, you need to try this app.

Overall I like the functionality and the value of this app. I look forward to seeing the activity badge knowing I can peruse a new list of deals. However, whenever the app forces an in-app blog/news post view on launch, it "marks viewed" ALL other sections of the app. Suddenly the tabs on "my deals" are marked viewed. I find it so annoying I just close the app and skip that entire viewing of new deals because I have to try to determine where I was in what is sometimes a huge list of items to view. When this happens I most definitely do not read the blog/news post, which negates the whole purpose of what the app is trying to do at the moment. Update: Thanks for the quick response. Looking forward to the update to make this good product even better.

I’m sorry but this app used to be great, but now it’s absolutely slow. Been slow for the longest time and when I saw the update I was excited that they FINALLY fixed the issue. Nope! Still incredibly slow. You tap on a movie to buy and it shows the logo in the center with its animation until you get so tired of it not doing anything and you end up going to Apple TV and buying the movie without using the app. Wish the developers would just fix this app for once and get it working. Right now it is absolutely useless. **EDIT** The developer responded to my review and said that the app had an update and is now blazing fast. I don’t know what planet this “blazing fast” app is on, but wherever it is, I’d like to have that app because this app is still excruciatingly slow. It’s not fast at all. Pages load as slow as ever. I’m constantly getting the RELOAD dialogue at the bottom of the splash screen. It stays on the splash screen for ages until it decides to load. And when tapping on a movie or tv show to view more, it gives you that load screen of death as the screen darkens somewhat and you have the animated logo telling you that it’s loading. Well I just cannot use this app anymore. Not until this phantom “blazing fast” app finally shows itself because this app is not blazing fast at all. All other apps work great. This one is not working hardly at all.

The website is much, much better. Moreover, the app goes dark when users attempt to filter results. I view the site as indispensable, by the way, but cannot rate the app any higher than two stars. Devs, please consider adding the option to open titles in Safari.

Thank you for this app! It helps me get my favorite movies & shows at a great price. This is the best way to get everything for the lowest price with the price drop notifications. I was able to get Smallville for $20. When it’s usually $100. Great app!

My go to app to find the best deals on iTunes movies

The app doesn’t show all deals like it should. Go to reddit and find deals that this useless app doesn’t show.

I set up WISHLISTS for ebooks, audiobooks and movies that I want to purchase, establish my desired pricing threshold and wait for an email notification from the app when my price goals have been met. Works flawlessly. I heartily recommend to anyone looking to save a few bucks on their digital media.
