Good game that could be great

Lol38524880$369 on

Fantastic idea, almost perfectly implemented. Very fun and well designed. Both chess and poker skills matter, which I didn’t expect. I have two qualms. First, there is a lot of downtime between hands. The game makes a big deal of telling you what happened in the previous hand, then takes a couple seconds to bet and a couple seconds to deal. This creates an unnecessary lag between hands, and slows the game down. Second, I think that opening antes rise too quickly and without enough warning. I have won/lost many games where one player is dealt bad cards four-five times in a row, folds each time, and then just loses the game. Given the amount of variance in poker, I think that number should be a bit higher. Besides these small issues, it’s a great game that any fan of chess or poker should try.

Fix The Glitches!

Hollybeary7 on

Vereinigte Staaten

The concept is incredible, and it’s a wonderful game, but the app is unplayable. It’s so laggy I can’t do it on my phone, and have to do it on my iPad. You also can’t queue a game without it booting you out of the game or force stopping. Basically every action you try to take results in getting kicked. Also, please please please add more chess sets, the default one is atrocious. Make the game less heavy, and fix getting kicked when doing anything and it’s an immediate 5 star review from me. I also bought the pack with the extra set because I hate the default one so much, and it took my money and then crashed without giving me the pack, so I’m double upset about that

good idea but bad execution

adamksg on

concept is good but it just gets boring knowing that every single player is a bot. i dont know if ive played a single player and the game looks pretty terrible.

App crashes

Henry_1018 on

Vereinigte Staaten

The app crashes every time you start a game. Either against 5e computer, or online. It lets you search, and crashes a soon as it finds an opponent and try’s to start the match.

Need to hire new app developers

Zao923 on

I absolutely love chess. I love poker even more. You’d think this game would be the perfect mix of the two...and it is! I’ll give 4 stars for the idea and gameplay. But honestly, I was tempted to give 2 stars because the app is absolutely atrocious. Everything is slow as molasses, and the app looks/acts like it was made for the iPhone 3G. It literally could not get any worse. The developers should feel embarrassed because the app has no cohesion and is poorly designed. If they did a COMPLETE rehaul of the app, this game could be HUGE. Just my two cents. It’s just plain unacceptable. But, alas, I use it bc the concept is fantastic. The implementation though? Unabashedly terrible.

Buggy

pucas8082 on

Vereinigte Staaten

Many bugs when playing games that often force you to quit or lose your chips. The most common bug for me is in the middle of a game, with no reasoning or warning. My pieces stop making moves. Even when it’s my turn and my clock is ticking my pieces appear to have the premove affect on them when I attempt to move them. When this happens I’m forced to resign or run the clock out and lose. With a game like this these sorts of bugs are not acceptable. The game idea and the game itself is really fun when it works.

Pay to play !

PQWOEIRITUY on

Vereinigte Staaten

The waiting time to be given more chips is insane. Meanwhile I play what I assume are RMT’ers who go all in every hand because 4K chips is a joke to their parents credit card. This app is trash. So are all pay to play games and apps. Why we put up with this as a society is beyond me.

Much better

DB-34 on

Vereinigte Staaten

This is actually a clever concept and a fun game. Ever since the last bug fixes, there’s no more glitches. Being able to premove the chess pieces was a great much needed improvement. The only thing missing now is the ability to pic an avatar that actually looks like me (or at least be able to upload my own photo). Overall I recommend it.

Kind of Broken

Esgranok on

Vereinigte Staaten

Great concept but there is a single optimal placing strategy and white is always at a constant disadvantage because black is always able to counter play during placement. Main problem I have is the “offline mode,” where the Ai will quit if you don’t have good cell service or WiFi. Isn’t it supposed to be offline mode?

Had Potential

mannybx718 on

Vereinigte Staaten

Great game has potential but terrible app. There’s a bug that awarded my chips to the opponent player. Not sure developers would do much about it since you would have to put real money if you run out of chips. Also everything is real slow while you’re playing. Poorly made app.
