Ok
While useful for identifying your senders and how many emails you have from each sender so you can manually delete them, using it to unsubscribe has been completely useless. It says I’m not subscribed to any email lists. That is untrue. I have over 10,000 emails in my yahoo inbox and I’m trying to clean out—many are spam or old email lists. I think perhaps my inbox is too big because it just spins and spins and spins—and never identifies any emails to unsubscribe.
This is the most powerful app for cleaning up email in an instant!
Hello Chuck! I searched for this answer, Google gave me everything but the answer. Can I use Pro for a year and then downgrade? Thanks Wayne
I’ve been using Chuck for several years, so I know the app inside and out. Unfortunately, the pricing has become ridiculous—$3.99 to $8.99 per month, which adds up to over $100 per year. That’s absurd for an email app. I’ve paid for premium email services before, like $30/month for Superhuman, and even that wasn’t worth it. Chuck should offer a discount to long-term users like me who’ve supported the app for years. On top of that, the app has serious functionality issues. If you link your email accounts to Chuck and later download it on another device (like a MacBook) or reinstall it on your phone, you have to relink all your accounts manually. The app doesn’t remember your linked accounts, and nothing syncs between devices. Another issue is that blocking or unsubscribing from senders doesn’t seem to work—I still get emails from senders I’ve already blocked or unsubscribed from, which is beyond frustrating. Finally, the “sort by sender” feature has a bug and doesn’t work properly. This is a basic feature that should function flawlessly in an app you’re paying for. Chuck used to be a solid app, but between the outrageous pricing and these persistent issues, it’s no longer worth it. Long-term users like me deserve better.
I had been looking for an app to help clean up my 60k emails i had accumulated. The free version of this app helped do that in a couple hours. Bonus that i could unsubscribe to spam email lists.!! Now i have a manageable email in box!!
Massive bulk actions performed with responsive quick UI. Hard to believe it’s happening in the background sometimes. Rare attention to frontend and backend both doing their jobs.
This is a pretty good app for bulk deletion / marking of emails, its stated purpose. Some recent changes are confusing, though. Take the Unsubscribe feature. This was previously a single click at the top of a sender’s list of messages. In the latest release, this has now turned into a four-click process to 1) bring up a new panel, 2) click Unsubscribe a second time, 3) confirm your choice and then 4) close the new panel. Why? How is this an improvement? The engineers of this app continue to make questionable UX decisions.
It seemed great at first because I went through thousands of email quickly but I’m experiencing a few disappointments: 1. It seems that the app didn’t unenroll me from the spam mail but instead, it just helped me filter out mail so I don’t see it. If I go to other email apps, like the inherent iPhone mail app, everything is still there. 2. I’m still getting a lot of junk. 3. I wouldn’t mind using the app despite the above but the app loads sooo slowly. For example, I wanted to search all inboxes to find an old email. At first, it said it couldn’t find it because it hadn’t loaded all of the messages yet and when it tried, it took forever. I didn’t have enough time to sit and wait for it to load before searching so I never found it. I just end up using other apps to send and search for email. So, as an email app, it’s not great. It’s pretty good for organizing and filtering out spam but I don’t see any other value. If I hadn’t already paid and gone through all of those hours of clearing emails, I’d be using something else.
