This app used to be great but it stopped working.
Great tool until the last month. Now locks up without connecting. Reinstalled twice with no change. Deleted.
Locked up at “connecting”. Does not even start. Have deleted and reinstalled. Nothing… Dont know what happened but now a waste.
Only offers to connect to one server and that is POOR
I’m trying to use the app in the Apple let me use the app. It keeps telling me something went wrong it won’t connect to my Internet even though I said the phone right on it the router. It won’t let me set up an account. And I can’t find anywhere to get help so I’m writing it here. Very disappointing
Has anyone else had problems with the app loading? It allows me to sign in but the second I go to remote it freezes? Any thoughts?
I found this app refreshing. It does a great job at doing what it says it can. Not a ton of advertisements popping up in your face. Thank you for that in the addition to a great app!
Both this app and the allied Wi-Fi SweetSpots are useful. The latter only checks the speed of your own Wi-Fi and does not measure the ISP speed. Cloudcheck measures both. It is likely that most users have far faster speeds within their Wi-Fi network than the speed from their Wi-Fi system to the ISP. If you understand the difference you will get more mileage. I used the Wi-Fi speed check to adjust the location of my second AirPort Extreme and this increases my local speeds from about 50Mbps to 200Mbs, just by moving the Airport 5 feet. For larger locations this feature will help you place your second Wi-Fi unit in an optimal position, or if you only have one Wi-Fi router, see where you should be for fastest Wi-Fi. Moving the router or your device a few feet can make a big difference. Measuring ISP speeds is always variable as each tool gives quite different speeds eg Speedtest VS Cloud Check or Netflix’sFast.com etc (due to different servers, times and other factors). So when the ISP says your equipment is the cause of any slow speeds, you can now check to see if that is true or not and if the bottleneck is with the ISP and/or the internet. As we all know, ISP speeds never or rarely match their advertised speeds due to shared nodes and multiple users competing for the same Internet access etc. If you realize that tools like Speedtest check speed to and from the ISP to your modem/router and then to your devices by Wi-Fi,the process makes sense. Get this app and experiment. It works as advertised.
I’m not sure who to believe: CloudCheck differs from Ookla substantially in broadband speed reporting.
