Coat Color

As a Goldendoodle breeder, I was super excited to find this app to predict puppy colors with specific sire and dam pairings. The inverse wording of “do not enter a gene if you want it to be considered a carrier” was so very confusing. Then having almost every color on the list of phenotype coming out at 100% did not make sense. Neither my sire nor dam carry Merle genes, so I inputted Merle, and based on the app’s wording, the puppies should not be Merle. The phenotype came out with 100% Merle. I think this app would be much better if we could input the genes that our dogs DO carry, combine and then execute the proper color combinations.

The app is great if you breed only one breed of dog, French Bulldog. Seems it would be more useful to a much broader audience if it was expanded to other breeds. With most of the genetic markers being the same, doesn’t seem too difficult for the developers. Please consider.

Saves time and learning curve on all the coloring possibilities. Good job to whoever created this.

If I don’t select kbr or Ky brindle still shows up on results. Where is Kb?

Every color combination you list to assume the phenotype leads to pied and brindle even if neither dog carries those genetics. It’s only good to see what color you dog is based on genetics you enter. But do not use this app to find phenotype possibility between your dam and sire.

Great simple application that can help you learn and remember coat colors and possibilities.

Very glad and excited there is an app for French bulldog color prediction! I use this almost every day to test possibilities for my pups and future puppies. Thank you!

Love this app it is so easy to use you don't need to understand much to get the information and get the results back out as a genetic code and also a visual representation plus it comes up with the percentages of each version of the genetics possible thank you very much for a well-made and simple app that works every time excellent job
