Colordot by Hailpixel - A color picker for humans

A well thought out app that can be used by creatives in the real world as a tool. It's very simple to use and is beautifully designed.

I've just read the developers story on his blog and thought I'd check it out. What a brilliant little app; smooth, reliable and a pleasure to use. Great work - keep 'em coming.

Love how you can snap a colour using the camera and create a palette on the fly. Great UX, nicely put together.

I'm not sure if it's because I've just updated my OS (9.3.1) but every action I performed, even the onboarding, was really glitchy and buggy. Opening camera, tapping screen... Just all a mess. Lovely idea though and I will hope for an update.

Eventually discovered the swipe left once a colour has been generated to permit access to editing/typing a specific colour value. Therefore increased product rating from 3 to 4 out of 5.

I've always loved the web version and finally I get to bring it with me in my pocket. Wonderfully simple and well executed.

As someone who generally can't figure out a color scheme more involved than "black on white", I love this app. I've been using the web version for a while for small projects by myself and now the phone app seems like it's been improved in every way. Making palettes with the camera... Being able to quickly sends palettes to other people... Plus, beautifully designed. I think this will be a staple on my home screen for a long time to come.

Not working well at all. I don’t even know what this app could be useful for - certainly not what they advertise it to be. Constantly crashes (as in not responding to touching screen etc). Useless piece of junk.

It hasn’t been updated for a while which is probably why. It still works for the most part, but it hangs for example when trying to close the dialog pane after exporting. Other than that I can see it’s a fine app, and leaving this in case the author can find time to update it.

I really hoped this app would allow me to type hex codes and have the app suggest colors to go with ones I have chosen. I feel there are not enough controls in the app, like being able to go back and see which way to move fingers for color changes, name palettes, more than 3 colors per palette. Also, not sure if this is a me problem but one I found a color I liked I could not shift through light/dark colors, maybe needs better directions?
