Inspiring and fun
This app sets the standard for elegant high-contrast camera apps. It never gets old, seeing the world through this view and capturing cool shots. I’ve been recommending Hornbeck for years.

The best black and white camera in existence at the moment. Not even Fuji Xpro can come anywhere close to it :)
This app has awful lag, it couldn’t focus on anything and was always 10 steps behind. Very disappointed.
Sometimes it is difficult to check the scene for the black and white photograph. There was black and white view filter that was sold to Tiffen.. This app is a perfect solution. I hope the developer continue this app...
This is just wonderful! I actually heard this from an Australian Photographer named Patrick Brown. This app is just awesome! First of all, this is super easy. Secondly, if you like black and white and high contrast and candid picture, this app is just for you.
Contrast by Hornbeck has a singular aim to produce high contrast black and white photos and it succeeds with amazing results. Photography is painting with light and Contrast will help you do just that with stunning images.
Just did an update on my iPhone6 and your app keeps crashing. Help!
Does one thing. Does it really well! No ads! No in app purchases! I am impressed!
This app, I have recommended to several folks at the recent MOTION 2014 conference in Albuquerque, NM. I can not rave about this app enough! Got folks at design studios to download it, got photogs to get it, it is stunning! Passed it on to folks in the film biz. Just get it! Laurence Zankowski
right now this is one of my most favorite and most used camera apps i agree with other reviewers, you need to have an understanding of light, and of the app itself, to get the most out of it as for resolution, yes, it now supports higher resolution, but in my experience output resolution seems to vary depending on image content. if your image is a single black line, it'll come in at well under 1mb, whereas if your image is more complex and detailed the output size will show a corresponding increase. anyone else experience this? just curious, i've proven it to myself already with a couple of quick tests developers -- love it, but would really, really appreciate consistent high resolution output, tiff output, and most of all, the ability to touch the screen to set focus on a specific area (i've figured out my own work-around, but with an app that appears to be intended for use by people other than those just out shooting snapshots, using the screen as a shutter IMHO and with all due respect seems not quite ideal) bottom line, learn it, and love it. it's a great b/w app UPDATE -- i contacted john hornbeck and received a fast and very kind response from him. great guy. so, 1) the touch screen shutter is by design to suit his (and now that he pointed it out to me, my) shooting needs, and it will not change. basically, it's for fast, on the go shooting with no fumbling around to hit a single button while you miss the shot. 2) as i suspected, file size output is relative to the amount of detail in the image, so, less detail, smaller file size. 3) they want to incorporate uncompressed image output with the release of iOS 8. he was really nice, and everything he said made perfect sense. so, i love this app. it may be niche, but it's a keeper, and i highly, highly recommend it.
