Controller for HomeKit

Clearly one of the best Home Apps for homekits. Apples own is updated like every 3 year, and never goes forward. Things that can be improved is the layout and UI. Also it would be nice with a more advanced automations part, maybe inlcude shortcuts. Something that would be very nice is a way add to Philips Hue Scenes to homekit scenes. Aqara has something like this.

This is what apple’s own home app should have been. Because of restrictions in apple api, you have to do things in both apps. Like automations. You start in apple home app, and finish off in controller. And in controller you have proper conditions you can set. The notifications feature is quite advanced to setup, but you can do a lot of fun. Backups are a difficult area, but it’s better have some kind of backup than nothing. Logs are great! But I don’t think it’s logging all kinds of automations? I have been trying to see what happens in my new Aqara fp2 sensor, but can’t see it’s logged. It’s much to learn, so be prepared to spend some time reading and learning the app. It’s evolving very good. So it’s a no brained get this app, if you like do advanced things.

Logging: Only works when app is turned on. So it’s not a self served log. There is no “logging over time” unless you keep the app awake for the rest of your life. Backups: There are like 6-7 caveats to backups. Lots of things not being backed up. Demanding a refund.

The most potent of all Homekit-apps! Perhaps not the best looking or most elegant, but definitely the one with most tricks up it's sleeve. And a big, big bonus point for having a Mac OS version as well!

Downloaded this because the Floor Plan scanner seemed awesome. Don’t. Just don’t. It’s awful. Crashes during the scan? Time to start the whole house over. That’s okay, I’ll just save between each room. Nope, there’s no way to edit a home scan or add rooms once you save. Which also means if you move any furniture, it’s time to cross your fingers and hope it won’t crash during another whole-home scan. Awful awful awful experience.

The developer has locked down the app with a subscription. Therefore, if you want to access all of your previous work, you’re compelled to subscribe.
