Also not happy
I agree with TarLevPeb. Why ‘fix’ something that is working. Things I am complaining about is the ‘jumping’ to a different word than the one I want to do. Also the screen is always moving under your touch and you have to make absolutely sure the clue you want to solve is highlighted correctly and then you have to touch again to start solving the clue. The previous version worked much easier. When you have touched the block with the clue, you can be sure you are going to solve that clue, not one in a different direction. I also loved the large grids of the previous version. So please please please bring back the previous version.
Thank you for your response, but please read my complaint again. You did not even mention any of my concerns. You just gave a standard reply.
Firstly, I am not against change, as long as it is an improvement to the status quo. And this new version is certainly not. Secondly, I complained about the small grids - not the ‘pinch to zoom’ option which is common knowledge, but the size of the number of blocks in a grid. The Previous version had a nice big grid that keeps one busy. Thirdly I really don’t like the new feature of automatic movement to different clues. I like to follow my own way to the next clue and I find this feature very irritating. Perhaps you can add an option to cancel this feature should one wishes to.

Why fix what isn’t broken?
LOVED the previous version of the app. It was simple, but that’s all it needed to be. It was easy to use and a great UX. The new version is awful in comparison. I’ve subsequently deleted the app - it’s now more of an irritation to do a crossword than a form of entertainment / de-stressing exercise. So sad!
Challenging and fun
I downloaded in 2018 and have enjoyed it a lot. Some cons: app crashes a lot on iOS 13, almost everyday, and the in-app adverts can be annoying.

Used to love this app before the update
Before the recent update this was my go to game. Easy to play and navigate with 4 different playing levels to choose from. It was all free and nothing to pay for with no ads, but now you can’t use the find error button, solve letter and solve word buttons without watching an advert unless you pay a premium! I also don’t like the new layout and the buttons look really old fashioned unlike before. This game used to be great and I like that it uses British words, phrases and spellings. But now, I’ve deleted the app because I don’t want to waste my time watching ads or paying for something that used to be free.

New update
I hate the new update, it has wiped my stats, and the whole layout is annoying me as not working as it used to, hate it so much I am going to uninstall it!
