Denominations

Not complaining as I knew what currencies were supported when I brought the app but it would be great to have Vietnam supported. A simple calculator would be great to but that is probably put of scope of this app.

I'm currently traveling in Tokyo, next week Hong Kong. First time I don't have to do mental arithmetic every time I buy a coffee or a sandwich. Yay.

A very well executed app, and the latest update adds many more currencies, including many southeast Asian nations.

First up - this doesn't do maths - if you want that go with the (free) XE app. This app is all about helping you wrap you head around converting currencies in a foreign land - and at that it does a brilliant job. By keeping the list of *denominations* (get it?) fixed in your home country (or, with a simple button press, your destination country, which works better for me) you LEARN to think in the country you're in's currency. It's brilliant. It's also beautiful and minimal - and everywhere you THINK there should be a button - there is. Finally - ignore if you can the 1-star complainers. The app description clearly states that there are (currently) a limited set of supported currencies, all listed on the dev's site FAQ. (Yen and AUD are there so I'm set) and the dev is ACTIVELY supporting the app via Twitter - it a currency you want isn't here don't low rate, silly - just ASK HIM/HER.

I bought this to help me in vietnam and not be ripped off hopefully. Turns out it has a very limited amount of currencies it can actually display. This app is only useful to those looking at big time countries. If its a small place you have in mind like fiji or rio, then forget this app.

This is one of the best designed iPhone apps I have ever seen. It packs an incredible amount of information into a small space. Useful if you're travelling, or just buying from overseas, well worth the purchase. The only caveat is the relatively limited currency support (check the website - AUD, USD, EUR, GBP and 8 others). It'd be great if they could add Pacific Francs before my next holiday...
